It was 2020, and online dating was really the only form of dating. Taylor was visiting her mom in Brenham with her best friend, Brandon. Sydney was in a truck with her brother, Andrew, on the way to meet their family for a mini vacay in San Antonio. Both of them happened to swipe right at the same time, and it was a match! Within one week, Sydney had plans to drive 5 hours north to Denton, TX, where Taylor and her 8 dogs and hedgehog lived at the time. The two (really 11 if you include the dogs and Herman) spent the next few days getting to know each other, sharing their favorite movies, music, interests, and goals. By the end of the few days they spent together, there were already talks of plans to meet a couple of weeks later in Brenham, Texas, at Gail, Taylor’s mom’s house.
