If we do not receive a response to your/your party’s RSVP by October 31st, we will regrettably not be able to accommodate you at our reception. If plans change after your RSVP has been submitted, please reach out and let us know!
Due to the size of both of our (rather large) families, we’ve had to limit our guest list. While the wedding mass does not have a capacity limitation, the reception does. Because of this, we ask that you only bring who is listed under your RSVP to the reception. If there are any changes (new babies, new relationships, new marriages), please reach out and let us know! Although we can’t make any promises, we’ll do our best to accommodate the changes.
This is a semi-formal event, but also a Catholic wedding. Keeping this is mind, men are expected to wear button-downs, ties, slacks, etc.; women are expected to wear dresses, skirts, jumpsuits, pantsuits, etc. that are suitable for a Catholic church. Clothes to Avoid: jeans, ripped clothing, plunging necklines, miniskirts Colors to Avoid (ladies): white, pale yellow, light pink Check out this article from The Knot for a more in-depth rundown: https://www.theknot.com/content/what-to-wear-to-a-catholic-wedding
Knowing that we have a litany of dietary restrictions amongst our guests, we’ve included a section in the RSVP for you to note any potential dietary restrictions you may have. We will have both gluten-free and dairy-free options as part of the reception dinner. If we are unable to accommodate the specific restriction or allergy you mention in the RSVP, we will let you know in advance.
Being that this is a small town in the middle of Michigan, there aren’t many things to do around here. That being said, while the bridal party, newlyweds, and their families are taking pictures after mass, you’re more than welcome to head over to the reception hall across the street. While the cocktail hour and reception won’t officially start until later, we will have some snacks and drinks there for you to indulge in while you catch up with old friends and family. If you need a little kick-starter before the festivities begin, the closest coffee shops are in Portland, Grand Ledge, and St. Johns (all ~15-20ish minutes out of Westphalia). You could check out Global Coffee in St. Johns, where Jake and Brianna had their first date! There are also a few restaurants and bars in town where you can hang, if you so choose.
