September 2017: Our first day hike, Grey Rock, and likely the first picture of our relationship. We got stuck in a rainstorm coming down, a trend that has continued several hikes later.
September 22, 2017: Josh and Allie's wedding in Grandby, CO. The weekend Nick "officially" asked Jen to be his girlfriend, aka, "Hey, so, uh, so, do you want to be my girlfriend, or?"
October 2017: One of our first traveling trips to Sand Dunes National Park. Also the weekend we discovered sledding down sand is way better than hiking up it.
November 2017: "Puppies and Pints," an event Nick and Jen used to go to often before COVID. It also happens to be one of Jen's favorite pictures of Nick.
December 2017: Jen's first trip to MN. It was -18°F.
March 2018: Thailand. Booked 2 months into dating. It included a missed flight, tuk-tuk drivers calling Nick a "cheap-cheap" for not wanting a costum-made suit, snorkeling, and elephants.
May 2018: Bend, Oregon. We had spent the day on the Ale Trail, when Jen had the liquid courage to ask "where things were going." Nick gave an acceptable response, and we walked outside to this view.
June 2018: Exploring Seattle during Jen's fieldwork.
Winter 2018: Exploring a back bowl (Nick would know exactly which resort this is, Jen is notoriously bad at directions.)
ETA:Showing this to Nick later, he immediately said, "Yea, that's Vail."
April 26, 2019: Grey Rock round 2. "We went up the mountain pre-ancés, and we came down the mountain fiancés," as Nick so eloquently announced our engagement. We again got stuck in a rainstorm.
July 5, 2019: Elopement day. All parents attended, and Kathy conducted the ceremony. We eloped then to ensure Jen would have benefits post-grad school. Little did we know how apt our timing would be.
September 2019: Our western trip, but not our honeymoon. A man yelled "RAM FAM!" at us from across the parking lot which is now our running joke, head butting and all.
June 2020: Mt Huron, our first of ten 14ers for the summer. This time caught in a snowstorm.
September 2020: Mt Handies. One of Jen's favorite Colorado days ever. We nearly wrecked the car getting to the trailhead (necessitating the ATV,) but no snowstorms.
December 2020: Morrison's first trip to Minnesota. It was above 0° this time.
Christmas day 2020: A more accurate shot of the COVID times.
March 2021: Mineral Basin, another day exploring the slopes
June 2021: The crew grows! Meeting Nick and Jen's niece for the first time, and being reunited with Jen's family for the first time in almost 2 years since pre-COVID.
