Check out Baton Rouge's downtown and the landmarks!
Take a guided tour out on the swamp where you'll see amazing wildlife, views, and what Louisiana is all about!
If you're interested in learning more about Louisiana history, you might want to visit plantation homes in the area, including Oak Alley, Houmas House, Whitney Plantation, and Magnolia Mound. These homes now serve as museums and are dedicated to telling the history of slavery in Louisiana.
You can walk around the lakes and enjoy the scenery! (Parts of the lakes have been under construction recently, so just be aware some routes may not be available)
Spend the day eating beignets, exploring the French Quarter, and listening to jazz music! About an hour drive from Baton Rouge, and a great day trip. (We don't recommend wandering around the quarter at night)
A cute little island on the lake! Stroll through the town, grab a coffee, or go to the park to see some beautiful views of the lake.
Gorgeous church overlooking the lake!
See the largest waterfall in Europe! The view is beautiful, and I actually lived only a 10 minute walk from there the year I played in Switzerland.
Take a mountain cable car up to see a gorgeous view of the mountains and lake!
Take a ferry to the other side of the lake and explore this cute town!
Check out the castle that inspired the Disney's Sleeping Beauty castle! (1-2 hour drive, and prepare to hike some)
Visit the city where we first met! :) This is where we had our first date and spent most of our time our first year of dating. Eat at Cafe Zeitgeist (our first date spot), visit the Englischer Garten, or walk around Marienplatz. About a 2.5 hour drive or a 3.5 hour train from Kressbronn.
