The Beginning

Fall 2014

Andrew and I both entered our first year of college at East Carolina University in the fall of 2014. Andrew says he was with his friend, Nick, throwing a baseball around at the bottom of The Hill when he first spotted me. He claims I caught his eye nearby and in an attempt to get my attention and talk to me, he purposely overthrew the ball. Nervous and trying to build the confidence to make his way over to me.... he decided against it and let Nick chase down the ball instead. Although he didn't make a move until years later, he says he always had a crush on me from that point on. Our paths would cross multiple times throughout our college years, and although we knew of each other through social media, we never had the chance to actually meet until years later...

How We (Officially) Met

January 6, 2018

What says “true love” better in this day and age other than sliding into the DM’s? Andrew made his move December 30, 2017, striking up a conversation about winter break, New York, and, of course, The Yankees. We had been texting for a couple of days when he had asked me to go out with him and a group of his friends one night before the end of winter break. We decided to meet up at Sup Dogs for food and drinks with a group of his friends. After a few Sup Crushes and card games, we headed over to Rafters (which later became our favorite bar) to dance and sing the night away. Afterwards, we headed back to a friends house, where Andrew and I shared our first kiss on a set of stairs. As the night drew to an end, I got a ride home, but not before Andrew gave me his hoodie to wear home to stay warm. (He’s told me that was the only way he could make sure he would have to see me again).

I Said Yes!

March 8, 2019

Andrew and I were on spring break in Florida visiting his mom and enjoying our time on the beach. We had gone out to the beach one evening before the sun went down to go look for some shells. Before heading home, I told Andrew I loved him and he pulled me in close and asked me how much I loved him. That’s when he pulled out the most beautiful ring, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. We hugged and kissed, smiled and cried, all while the sun set behind us on the beach.
