Cleveland Botanical Garden
Our love of flowers first brought us to the botanical garden and after that visit we became members. We try to visit a few times a year and love the zen garden, butterfly house, and special exhibits. There's a great kids section, too, one of Josh's favorite spots in the garden.
L'Albatros
This upscale, French inspired restaurant is a favorite date-night location for us when we are in Cleveland. It's walking distance to The Glidden House and has one of the cutest patios in town. It's small, so book your reservations in advance. Calli's favorite dish is the walleye entree paired with an aviation cocktail.
The Cleveland Museum of Art
Walking distance to the Glidden House, the art museum is free of charge and offers dynamic experiences that illuminate the power and enduring relevance of art in today’s global society.
tommy's
No matter what your diet, Tommy’s has something that will satisfy you – vegetarians, vegans, meat-eaters, health-conscious and the just plain hungry. Calli has been dining here since her John Carroll days in 2001. Get the hummus served warm and ask for a side of veggies if you are gluten-free.
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is about a 20 minute drive from The Glidden House. The Zoo is divided into several areas: Australian Adventure; African Savanna; Northern Wilderness Trek, The Primate, Cat & Aquatics Building, Waterfowl Lake, The RainForest, and the newly added Asian Highlands. You'll need some time to explore, but it's worth it!
Moulin Rouge! The Musical
"Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?" Catch a play at Playhouse Square! Calli's love of the theater is so contagious, Josh is now a super fan. Calli loves it all from emotional dramas like Les Miserables to playful fun like The Lion King. This year Josh especially enjoyed Little Shop of Horrors and Beetlejuice.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
Cleveland Rocks! Literally. Get your groove on as you experience the history of rock and roll. Feature exhibit includes the 2022 inductees: Dolly Parton, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Eurythmics, Eminem, Carly Simon, Duran Duran, Lionel Richie, Judas Priest, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Harry Belafonte, Jimmy Lovine, Sylvia Robinson, Elizabeth Cotten and Allen Grubman.
A Christmas Story House
Check out The Christmas Story House museum before it's too late. This property is also for sale if you are looking for your next investment! We haven't actually been here, but we love a good campy museum.
Little Italy
Located minutes from University Circle, Little Italy’s quaint, walkable neighborhood is home to cafes, restaurants, shops, and art galleries that allow visitors to experience its historical charm.
Coventry Village
Coventry Village has an eclectic assortment of stores and restaurants and is one of the Cleveland area's most original shopping experiences. From book stores, to novelty shops, and yoga, there's something for everybody in this groovy neighborhood.
Ohio City
Ohio City is just plain cool. It's one of our favorite neighborhoods. TownHall Restaurant has a variety of vegan and vegetarian options. There's also a few breweries, shops, and the our favorite, The West Side Market.
