Things To Do

Bucks County is home to Katie's family and makes for a cozy winter getaway. If you have extra time while you are in town, we're excited to share a few of our favorite places in the area with you.
Downtown New Hope

Downtown New Hope

4 East Bridge Street, New Hope, PA 18938

Nestled on the Delaware River, New Hope is a charming town with eclectic shops, art galleries, restaurants, a canal, and Revolutionary War history. You can also walk over the bridge to Lambertville, NJ - another historic and idyllic town.

Peddlers Village

Peddlers Village

Peddlers Village, New Hope, PA 18938

A wide variety of shops and a great place to roam around - we recommend Free Will Brewing Taproom or Hewn Spirits Distillery for a drink. Right in your backyard if you are staying at the Golden Plough.

Fonthill Castle and Mercer Museum

Fonthill Castle and Mercer Museum

525 East Court Street, Doylestown, PA 18901

If you love old architecture and antique relics, check this out. Henry Mercer's castle home, Fonthill, has 44 rooms and over 200 windows of varying size and shape. The interior walls, floors and ceilings are elaborately adorned with Mercer's handcrafted tiles and collected items. Very quirky and cool.

County Theater

County Theater

20 East State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901
, (215) 345-6789

Great for a rainy day - this 1938 art-deco theater in the heart of Doylestown is the perfect place to see a show, followed by ice cream or food and shopping downtown.

Crossing Vineyards and Winery

Crossing Vineyards and Winery

1853 Wrightstown Road, Newtown, PA 18940

Local vineyard with a tasting room and live music at 2pm on Saturdays. There are a few other local wineries if you want to make a tour of it: The Pour House at New Hope Winery, Buckingham Valley Vineyards, and Chaddsford Winery at Peddler's Village (tasting room).

Doylestown Tennis Club

Doylestown Tennis Club

10 Welden Drive, Doylestown, PA 18901
, (215) 345-7897

Matt spends most of his lunch breaks during the week on the tennis court. Reserve an indoor court up to 1 week in advance for $56/hour + $8 guest fee per player. Rackets are available to demo.

The Hattery Stove & Still

The Hattery Stove & Still

18 West State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901
, (215) 345-1527

A great brunch spot in the center of Doylestown (part of the Doylestown Inn)

Heirloom Doylestown

Heirloom Doylestown

54 East State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901
, (267) 880-6610

Another amazing brunch spot - note this is BYOB!

Nina’s Waffles and Sweets

Nina’s Waffles and Sweets

30 East State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901

Nothing like a warm waffle topped with ice cream on a cold evening!

For all the days along the way
