Truly plan for any and all weather! It could be shorts and T-shirt weather one day and the next day be snowing. Be prepared! Averages in the 50s & 60s
You may have heard that the air is “thinner” at higher altitudes. This means that your body cannot get as much oxygen. High-altitude illness most often occurs at altitudes higher than 8,000 feet. Estes Park is at 7,522!...reaching points up to 14,259 feet! You can pick up ‘Altitude Adjustment’ at the local grocery store King Soopers to help ease symptoms of altitude sickness. DRINK WATER!

Cell service within the Rocky Mountain National Park is super touchy. So, while you’re headed up to Estes Park from Denver, exploring the RMNP and attending our ceremony, you may have limited service or no service. In downtown Estes Park, your phone will work great!
Yes! A day pass is $25/vehicle or 7 day pass for $35/vehicle. You can bike or walk in for $15/person a day or $20/person for 7 days. However, there are walking trails from the YMCA of the Rockies that do not require a pass into the RMNP.
You definitely don’t need 4WD/AWD to drive in the mountains...you’ll see plenty of mini vans! But, you will be climbing quite a bit coming from Denver at 5,280 feet above sea level to Estes Park at about 8,000 feet above sea level. Once your in the RMNP, you can get up to almost 12,000 feet above sea level. Check your tires and gas mileage and bring extra water!
