If staying in Halifax, spend some time walking the waterfront along the boardwalk. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops along this stretch. Make sure to stop at Cows for ice cream - bonus points if you see the drunk lamp posts.
This historic site is at the heart of Halifax if you're looking to learn more about the history of the area.
Downtown Halifax is known to have one of the highest bars/restaurants per capita in Canada. Some of our favorites are below (a million more to choose from!): Restaurants: - ChaBaa Thai/Talay Thai (the restaurants that fueled Fiona's Thai food addiction) - Darrell's Restaurant (Burgers/Diner) - Tony's Famous Donair/Randy's Pizza/King of Donair (Donair: this is an East Coast classic, get a donair with everything on it) - Ristorante a Mano/Bicycle Thief (Italian) - The Stubborn Goat/The Brown Hound (Pub) - Lou Pecou/Salvatore's (Pizza) - Edna (Bistro) - Au Liban (Lebanese) - Tribute/Waterpolo (Upscale/Fancy) Bars: - Durty Nelly's - The Lower Deck (great on Sunday night!) - The BG Halifax Beer Garden - Stillwell (Barrington Street) - Good Robot Beer Garden - Obladee Wine Bar - Lot Six or Magnolia (Cocktails) Other locations to visit in the downtown area are: - Halifax Public Gardens - Point Pleasant Park - Halifax Central Library - Harbour Hopper to tour around the city!
This location is on most postcards you will see of Nova Scotia. Recommend stopping on the drive to White Point to check it off your list - just stay off the black rocks!
On the drive to White Point, there are several towns you can stop at along Nova Scotia's south shore. Make stops in Lunenburg, Chester, Mahone Bay, or Liverpool for a break during the drive.
There are plenty of things to do at White Point over the weekend. Spend some time relaxing on the beach (take a swim if you're brave) or swimming in either the indoor/outdoor pools. There is a games room, a golf course, pickleball/tennis courts, kayak/paddle board rentals. Check out their website to see all they have to offer!
