For the classic outdoor Austin experience, visit Zilker Park! Pick up a picnic at Whole Foods, rent a paddleboard on the lake, or just go walk around and enjoy the people, dogs, and scenic views of downtown. This is one of our all time favorite spots in Austin to enjoy together.
Want to keep it weird in Austin? SoCo is a one-stop-shop for quirky shops and delicious eats! Highly recommend at least one (but would not judge you if you had two or three) meals at Hopdoddy Burger Bar!
The Greenbelt is a MUST for anyone who enjoys an adventure. There are several access points, each one leading to a different, yet equally beautiful, area of the trail. Along the trail you'll encounter water falls, rocks, and tons of beautiful greenery. And if you're feeling up for it, you can do what Julian invited me to do on one of our first "dates" - hike the entire 13 mile trail (be prepared to scale rocks and cross rivers) and then reward yourself with a (big) meal at Austin Java on Barton Springs Road.
Rainey Street is the best spot if you're looking for a place to grab some drinks, but not necessarily looking for a crazy night on Sixth Street. Here you'll find a charming street of old homes converted into cozy, chic bars. Be sure to visit Lucille - the site of our first date!
