WM Farmer & Sons is a lovely boutique hotel and restaurant in Hudson, NY. We love coming here for a staycation, but the restaurant is really the star of the show. Everything we've ever had here has been incredible, and the menu is always changing. If you can make it happen, we can't recommend WM Farmer & Sons enough for dinner.
This is our favorite breakfast in The Hudson Valley. Not only are they locally sourced and incredibly accommodating of dietary restrictions (hello, gluten free carrot coconut french toast!), but everything on their menu is completely delicious. Finlay's favorite is the gluten free Classic Eggs Benedict with Hudson Valley Smoked Salmon and a side of latkes, and Jesse loves the Breakfast Burger, also with a side of latkes. Seriously, get the latkes.
Grazin' is an awesome place for a casual and delicious meal. We are of course partial to both burgers and farm-to-table, but these guys definitely do it right. Grazin' was the first restaurant in the world to be Animal Welfare Approved, and as you know (or soon shall!), that is very important to us. The house-made condiments are also to die for!
Jesse and I have been here for dinner countless times and every time is absolutely incredible - in fact, this is where we are having our rehearsal dinner! They have a great brunch and dinner menu, as well as fabulous cocktails and a lovely outdoor area. If you make it for dinner, you have to try their charcuterie.
Opus 40 is a sculpture park and museum in Saugerties and while we have never been, it looks absolutely incredible. If you go here for the day, make sure you make time to eat at Love Bites Cafe!
This is a great way to see the Hudson River and boasts absolutely breathtaking views. When Dirty Dog Farm first came to NY, this was very close to the Farmer's Market where they sold meat, so it has a special place in our hearts.
The panoramic views from the summit — stretching from the Berkshires to the Catskills — make up for any huffing and puffing on this hike. Don't forget your binoculars to enjoy this bird mecca!
The Hudson River Maritime Museum is a maritime museum dedicated to the Hudson River Its collections are devoted to the history of shipping, boating and industry on the Hudson and its tributaries, such as the Rondout, where Kingston grew prosperous early in the 19th century as the northern end of the Delaware and Hudson Canal. We've never been here, but it looks awesome.
Located on Mount Rutsen Road in northern Rhinebeck, Ferncliff Forest Game Refuge and Forest Preserve is a 200 acre forest known as the second-best old growth forest in the Hudson Valley. The forest is available for hiking, camping, mountain biking, skiing, fishing, and picnics at no charge.
