Our out of state guests - we know why you're really coming to Milwaukee: for the cheese curds. We feel you. This is our favorite place to get them! Cafe Hollander can get pretty busy on Friday nights. We recommend arriving early or planning to just stop in for a drink and curds! Unfortunately they do not take reservations. Looking for dinner after cheese curds? Pizza Man and Bel Air are across the street and are both delicious and Milwaukee staples.
Come for the Fish Fry and stay for the Brewery Tour - or vise versa! If you're looking for something to do Friday afternoon/evening, head over to Lakefront Brewery for a comical brewery tour and some great Milwaukee beer. Make sure to make a reservation online in advance for the brewery tour.
Walkable from both hotels, this is a perfect spot to get lunch on Saturday. The Public Market is a fun space to walk around in with lots of eatery options to choose from. Eat here or take it back to your hotel as you get gussied up for the evening.
Take a stroll Friday afternoon or Saturday morning from your hotel along the Oak Leaf Trail alongside Lake Michigan to Colectivo on Lincoln Memorial Drive. Delicious, local coffee, bakery, sandwiches and blended drinks found here and the view on the walk can't be beat. Walking Times from Hotels: Pfister - 31 minutes, SpringHill - 42 minutes (make sure to take the scenic route along the trail!) *Note there is a closer Starbucks and Colectivo to both hotels if you are not up for such a long Walk.
Mandi's favorite breakfast spot in Milwaukee - walkable from hotels. It gets busy so I recommend arriving before 9:30am.
A fun area to walk around within walking distance of the hotels. Historic and true Milwaukee vibe: restaurants full of brats, beer and cheese and historic roads and buildings. At the southern end of Old World 3rd St., there is Grand Avenue Mall for any last minute shopping needs you may have.
As the name states, typically Summerfest (The World's Largest Music Festival!) takes place in summer (over July 4th to be exact). Lucky for our out of town guests, Summerfest will be held over our wedding weekend! Day passes are reasonable and the grounds are within walking distance from all hotels. Even if you are not familiar with the bands, it's fun to check out to hear some live music and see a beautiful view of Lake Michigan!
This area is within walking distance and is a fun space full of little shops, restaurants and a few breweries. Milwaukee Public Market starts the district when coming from the North. A few favorites to check out here: Stores- MOD GEN, Urban Milwaukee Breweries- Milwaukee Ale House, Camp Bar To Get a Drink & Views - Kimpton Journeyman Hotel - take the elevator to the rooftop bar (there will be firepits & also a covered area!) Restaurants - Cafe Benelux, Wicked Hop, Onesto, Blue Bat
If you're looking for some grub after the wedding - this is the place to get it from! Swing by the location and order by slice or order delivery to your room. Dan recommends the Mac & Cheese, Mandi recommends the Potato Ranch. While we love Ian's, this is probably not the place you want to get dinner from Friday night :)
Not ready to stop the party quite yet after the wedding ends? Head to McGillycuddy's first and then turn right or left on Water St. or onto Juneau St. and you can't go wrong! Some additional favorites: Harp, Brother's, Ugly's P.S. This is where Ian's is located to get those late night carbs in! Also if you're looking to watch football on Saturday morning, this is the place to be. Also recommend Wicked Hop or Milwaukee Brat House.
