During their most recent East Coast exploration, Karac proposed on the grounds of Mark Twain's 1874 mansion in Hartford, Connecticut. After an interior tour of the custom home, Karac and Sydney went for a walk around the home's exterior to explore the private garden and grounds. They have always shared a love of historical homes and architecture, admiring buildings from all eras and styles - on this same trip they also visited the 1600's homes in Salem, Massachusetts, Paul Revere's house in Boston, and original farmhouses from the start of the revolutionary war in the 1700's. Experiencing Mark Twain's carefully crafted mansion was surreal and inviting, portraying many aspects of a home that Karac and Sydney have dreamed about incorporating in their own home for many, many years. It was perfectly fitting to commit to a life of love and exploration together at this beautiful home, which represented so much love, laughter, and memories for Mark Twain and his wife, daughters, and his love for cats.
