Yes, it is highly advised to stay at Sunscape Akumal Beach Resort & Spa in order to avoid the daily entrance fee to be at our wedding. You may only be allowed to stay for a set amount of time for the wedding and reception. Also, a large part of our choice for destination wedding was to spend time with our closest friends and family!
Book when your budget allows for it. Our travel agent has the ability to make payment plans! A deposit of $150 per person is required to reserve your room and will be available for reservations till March 30th, 2020. With final payments being due July 12, 2020
No. This is a child free ceremony and reception. While we love your children, we have limited seating and cannot accommodate everyone's child at the ceremony and reception. We truly understand if this does not work for you and your family.
Yes, by all means bring your children on vacation! BUT, you need to be aware that the wedding events are CHILD FREE. We will not be paying for a babysitter for your children. That is something you will have to work out with the front desk. The hotel does off babysitting services for a fee. There is a welcome party, wedding, and a reception that you would need services for.
No, not to the wedding or reception. Please, feel free to bring a guest with on you vacation, just understand that we are on a guest count limit. It is a higher priority to have our closest friends and family present at our wedding and reception.
We are using a travel agent through Destify. Briana Harrison is our agents name. Our website to book is here, http://finallylancasteraccomodations.com You can book your hotel and flight through her!
The final day to reserve your room is March 30, 2020 with final payments being made on July 12, 2020.
Our wedding is September 17, which falls on a Thursday. Our suggested arrival dates are Tuesday the 15th, that night we will have our welcome party to mingle among everyone. Our suggested departure date is Saturday the 19. A four day vacation for couples is just the amount of time to miss your kids and still feel relaxed. Plus, no one wants to travel hungover!
Luckily, Tulum, Mexico is rarely in the path of a storm, but if one does approach, we'll be in close touch with all of our guests and make adjustments accordingly. Airlines typically allow guests to reschedule flights without a fee, and the resort will work with us the best they can.
Temperatures range from 75 to 90 degrees during the day, 65 to 80 at night. The beach will be the coolest area of the resort due to the constant, gentle breeze of the Mexican Caribbean.
Beach casual / chic. Sundresses, dress shorts or pants, button-up short sleeve shirts are welcome. Please refrain from wearing bathing suits, bathing suits cover-ups, and things of that nature.
If it rains, it will not be a problem. Our ceremony will be moved to the covered terrace, and the reception will be moved indoors as well.
Travel to Mexico requires a passport, but not a visa. It has been highly recommended to us to use this service to expedite the process of obtaining or renewing a passport: Get your passport paperwork at, https://www.passportsandvisas.com You are also able to obtain paperwork from your local post office and County Clerk’s building. You are able to do all paperwork at both those physical locations. Passports are $110 plus a processing fee of $25 and the cost of your 2x2 picture, it is cheaper done at Walmart than County Clerks office, $5-7. *Remember your passport MUST be valid for six months AFTER returning home from Mexico.* On the plane, you will be asked to fill out a tourist card about your visit to Mexico. If you prefer (this is optional!) you can fill it out and print it ahead of time online by going here: https://www.cancunairport.com/immigration.html
Please, join us and be in the moment of watching AJ & I finally get married. In other words, no! Before and after is perfectly fine, it is encouraged once the ceremony is over. After all, how long have we waited for this? Again, please refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony and wait till the reception. We have hired a very talented photographer, who is very good at what she does, and she shares a lot! Just be sure to join us in these important and irreplaceable moments.
No, you don't *need* to tip. But I like quick and great service and tipping makes you memorable ;). Tipped the employee at the Hippie Chick well and he knew our order by day two of our six day trip. Made lunch so much easier!
Grand Oasis Tulum filters their water so, yes, all water is ohkay to drink. This truly depends on your comfort level, there is plenty of bottled water on resort property. There will also be some provided in your mini-fridge and will be restocked daily.
Yes, dollars are welcome and encouraged when tipping.

For carriers like Verizon you will have to add your international plan, which is an additional $5 I believe. T-Mobile does not charge for cell phone usage or data in Mexico. Be sure to check and notify your cell phone carrier of the time and dates you'll be out on the country.
Are you worried about going to Vegas or Orlando? The waffle house or to school? No, ohkay then ;) Grand Oasis is a gated resort that requires checks in at the gate with name on reservations with security guards posted right there. I would venture to say that Grand Oasis Tulum in Mexico is just as safe as a country that allows acne riddled teenagers to buy AR-15's at Chuck E. Cheese. If that doesn't make you anxious, an all-inclusive resort, with people who are paid to wait on you, is the least of your worries.
Yes there is! It is not free though, you can pay a fee for your stay at the front desk. They will provide you with a code that you can access wifi on. I believe it is two devices per room. Wifi wasn't a *necessity* for our phones to be used though.
