Julie, Harvard Law student and softball lover, journeyed to Charlottesville for the UVA Law School softball tournament. Courtney, Educational Psychology student and dog mom, had every intention of blowing off this Tinder match...and then we ended up at the same bar. When our eyes met across the cornhole at The Biltmore, we both knew what it was like to fall in love at first sight.
The Proclaimers express that "I would walk 500 miles, and I would walk 500 more." Luckily, we didn't have to walk. But we did fly the 500 miles between Charlottesville and Boston many, many, many times. And then Courtney, who thought she would never leave the state of Virginia, picked up and moved to the frigid northeast. If that's not true love, what is?
Five years, two and a half degrees, three apartments, and a cat and a second dog later, we’ve landed in Brooklyn, New York. Julie works as a patent attorney while Courtney is pursuing a degree in social work. We can often be found at the park with the dogs or spending the day at the beach - Julie in the water and Courtney running on the boardwalk. To date, Julie hasn’t taught either dog (or her future wife) to surf.
