FAQ

If you have any more questions other than the ones we have listed here, feel free to reach out to Fabi or Fer.
Question

When should I plan to arrive?

Answer

Please plan to arrive by Thursday PM or Friday AM.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Friday's pre-wedding event is cocktail attire and Saturday's ceremony & reception dress code is formal. Men: suits, Women: long dresses. Please note, stilettos are not recommended as the reception will be held in a grassy area.

Question

What about transportation?

Answer

Uber is readily available in San Salvador and to/from the airport. However, if you feel like exploring the rest of the country, the best way to get around is to rent a car at the airport or book private tours. For private transportation and/or tours contact Miguel via Whatsapp at +503-7820-5478. Additionally, we will provide shared shuttles from San Salvador to wedding events at Coatepeque Lake. Shuttle schedule to follow.

Question

Will you be able to accommodate my dietary restrictions?

Answer

Yes, please let us know of your dietary restrictions when you RSVP.

Question

I am staying a couple more days. Where should I stay?

Answer

Because of its central location and access to facilities, we recommend staying in the San Benito Neighborhood in San Salvador or at the beaches in La Libertad and take day-trips from there if you are staying longer before or after the wedding. Feel free to reach out for recommendations.

Question

What is the local currency?

Answer

The currency is USD and $1 coins are commonly used. While credit cards are accepted, please carry some cash with you & to set the record straight, we have never seen anyone use Bitcoin.

Question

What is the weather like?

Answer

As Fer would say, El Salvador has 2 seasons ‘Tank top season’ and ‘T-Shirt season’. November is T-Shirt season so dress accordingly but bring a light jacket just in case!

Question

What is the tipping etiquette in El Salvador?

Answer

It is customary to leave a 10% tip at restaurants which is sometimes included to your bill so be sure to check. Tipping of $1-2 USD is not expected but is appreciated by housekeeping and bellman if they help you with your luggage.

Question

Is El Salvador safe to visit?

Answer

Yes, El Salvador used to be dangerous but things are pretty under control now. Keep in mind that El Salvador is a developing nation, we recommend taking Uber or booking private transportation instead of walking or taking public transportation.

Question

I want more guidance booking my travel. Who can help?

Answer

For any high-level recommendations, reach out to Fer or Fabi. For information on tours and/or airport transfers, contact your hotel or contact Miguel from Don Bosco Travel via Whatsapp at +503-7820-5478.
