We met the modern way - online - thanks to a perfectly timed match (and Nick's witty comment). After more than a few messages back and forth, we decided to meet in person. Nick planned our first date - we went to a Phillies game. The Phillies lost, but we didn't. What started as just watching the game, quickly turned into hours of easy conversation and laughing together. By the end of the game, it was clear this was the start of something pretty great! One date turned into many, filled with nights out with our families and friends, adventures, and the quick realization that we enjoyed spending time together. We supported each other as we both made new career decisions and started our house search. We made the big decision to buy a fixer-upper together. Between renovations, endless decisions, and learning what "we'll fix it later" really means, we realized we were building more than just a house - we were building a life together. When it came time for Nick to propose, he chose Cape May - specifically, a quiet spot in town by a fountain. Knowing that I am not a fan of public attention, he wasted absolutely no time getting down on one knee and asking the question before anyone could notice! From our first date at a (losing) Phillies game to buying a house together that slowly became a home, our story has been full of laughter, patience, love, and support. And now, here we are - ready to take on our next adventure together; preferably one with fewer house projects and a better outcome to the Phillies game.
