Neither of us knew what to expect from a blind prom date, but saying yes turned out to be one of the best decisions we ever made. Back in high school, Fernando didn’t go to Maddie’s school, but he was planning to join a group of friends at her prom. One of his groomsmen, Roberto, played matchmaker and casually asked, “Hey Fernando, want to take Maddie?” and just like that, our story began. Fernando officially asked Maddie to prom the day before (no pressure!), and that was the very first time we officially met. The second time? The next day, taking prom photos before heading to the dance. Prom turned out to be a total blast, and the rest is history.
