Getting Between Downtown Chicago & Joliet (Metra Train)

One of the easiest and most affordable ways to travel between downtown Chicago and Joliet is by taking the Metra Rock Island Line. Going from Chicago to Joliet 1. Download the Ventra app to purchase a one-way ticket for $8-$10: https://www.ventrachicago.com/app/ 2. Go to LaSalle Street Metra Station (414 S LaSalle St, Chicago). This station is located in the Loop and is easily accessible by CTA, Uber, or taxi. 3. Take the Rock Island Line to Joliet. Travel time: ~1 hour 20 minutes 4. Get off at the final stop on this line, which is Joliet Transportation Center in downtown Joliet (90 E Jefferson St). 5. Quick Uber/Lyft to your hotel or The Haley Mansion Heading Back to Chicago 1. Use the Ventra app to purchase a one-way ticket 2. Depart from Joliet Transportation Center 3. Take the Rock Island Line – LaSalle Street Station Bound 4.
