October is not too late sleep under the stars if you want to camp in Colorado! Nights may be chilly but likely above freezing. Check out Kelly Dahl, Camp Dick, Peaceful Valley, or Rainbow Lakes off CO 119 (all managed by the Forest Service). Or for warmer and closer ones, check out options in Golden Gate Canyon State Park or White Ranch Park. Practice leave-no-trace principles.
