Southern Charmed

Hello all! We are so excited to share our wedding day with our closest family and friends. Charleston is one of our favorite cities and a place that we've loved getting away to for adventures, southern hospitality, and some good ol' lowcountry southern foods. If you haven't had the joy of being there before, prepare to explore the cobblestone streets, architecture, artistans, and amazing foodie spots. If you're looking for a little sunshine rest and relaxation, beaches are only a short drive from downtown. Locals call their beloved Charleston "a drinking town with a history problem" and we can't wait for you to love it as much as we do! Our wedding will be held at Magnolia Plantation, a 18-20 minute drive from the core of downtown. Magnolia plantation is over 500 acres. Founded in 1676, it has been voted one of America's most beautiful gardens. For the entire weekend of the wedding, guests are welcome to explore the gardens and we can't recommend it enough! If you know if you are able to join us, please RSVP through this website in advance. We can't wait to celebrate with you! Please feel free to use this website to leave a little note, get details, and give a general RSVP.

How We Met

First comes tennis, then comes marriage / Spring . Summer 2014

Steph's Mom, Ida, was taking tennis lessons with Mike's then boss/always friend, Jose. The two connived and one day Mike sauntered onto the tennis court where Steph and Ida were playing and introduced himself. A couple of months later Steph moved into a condo below Mike, and with an offer to help move her in (who actually means that?), a couple of pool days, Steph asking to borrow a stud finder (come on), Mike calling Steph the dog lady (smooth talker he was), and a chance running into each other on Mike's sister's birthday, the two eventually realized Jose and Ida were on to something!

The Proposal

12 . 2 . 2016

Mike cleverly had it all planned out and Steph had no idea. In November of 2016, Steph and Mike had fostered two sweet little pups. When Steph's Dad (one of the biggest hearts ever!) couldn't take the cuteness anymore and announced he was coming to adopt one of the puppies, Mike moved up his plans so that Steph's family would be there to celebrate. On that gorgeous evening, Mike planned a fun dinner with Ida and Jeff, planning to take to the water to get there. Instead, when Steph and Mike got to their favorite sunset spot on Harbour Island (Steph late and almost missing sunset per usual), a photographer "working on her portfolio" asked if she could snap a photo. She faced Steph into the sunset, and when Steph turned around, Mike was down on one knee! At dinner after, Mike surprised Steph with both of their families there to celebrate! It’s amazing what a lot of love and a little puppy can do.
