If you're feeling generous, click the "Gifts" section of the website for options of different prices ranges we would really appreciate as newlyweds! Tip: if you purchase from Zola, all gifts will be on sale for 20% off if you wait until after the wedding ;)
Absolutely! On the boat cruise, there will be a time when we invite anyone to give a toast to Felix and Amanda. You can say or do whatever you like, as long as it doesn’t make the bride or groom cry (unless they are tears of joy!)
The most direct way from Naples to Amalfi without a car is through this direct shuttle, which departs from Naples Airport —> Amalfi daily at 10:00, 12:00, 15:00, 18:00, and 21:00. Book a seat in advance online! Tip: open the website on your browser to read it in English. https://shuttlebus.pintourbus.com/ If you cannot make the shuttle above, you can go by train + bus. 1. Take the Alibus from Naples airport to Naples Centrale (AKA Napoli Garibaldi) 2. Take the regional Trenitalia train from Naples Centrale to Salerno. Book in advance here: https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html 3. Take the 5120 bus from Salerno to Amalfi. Make sure to build in LOTS of extra time as the bus goes only once per hour!
A private shuttle will drive guests home from the wedding venue to various stops around Amalfi (there is no Uber and taxis are hard to find in this area). If you are staying further than 15 minutes from the wedding venue, you can pay a small fee to the driver (5-10 euros) to be driven further. Buses leave at midnight, 12:30, 1:00, 1:30, and 2:00 AM. To use the shuttle, please write down your accommodation address when you RSVP.
Unfortunately not :( You will need to rely on public transportation, driving a car or moped, ferries or taxis (we do not recommend this as they're very expensive).
Prepare for HOT weather - we're talking 90+ degrees with all day southern Italian sun! This means sunscreen, sunglasses, sunhats, swimsuits, maybe even a portable fan! Bring refillable water bottles to refill for free in the public fountains. Bring extremely comfortable walking shoes, as you will be walking up and down lots of steps and narrow cobblestone roads. Please see the schedule tab for the different dress codes for our wedding events, which range from casual to formal dress.
We suggest arriving at least 30 minutes before the ceremony begins. Ladies in heels, you'll need some extra time to climb down the steps to the church! When you arrive, look for a staff member in a "Havana" shirt to direct you to the church.
We recommend at least 4-5 days to see all highlights of the Amalfi Coast region (see the "Things To Do" tab for the highlights). Google "5/10 day Amalfi coast itinerary" for suggested itineraries. Amanda and Felix will be in Amalfi starting from Monday, July 31st. Come hang out with us if you're already in the area!
- Drive a car: there is free valet parking for guests at the wedding venue. - Bus: There is a local SITA bus (bus 5120) from the Piazza Flavio Gioia in Amalfi city center. At 1:45 pm, a member of wedding planning staff dressed in a black suit and "Havana Eventi" shirt will be waiting at Piazza Flavio Gioia (the traffic circle) to direct you to the correct bus. You can also use Google Maps to see if there is a bus directly from your accommodation.
Yes, there will be free valet parking at the wedding reception venue for wedding guests. For the boat cruise on Thursday, there is a paid parking lot directly at the Amalfi port for 5 euros per hour. Please email them to make a reservation for a spot in advance, as it will be crowded! https://www.amalfimobilita.com/pagina.asp?a=1574
If you are renting a car, we recommend flying into Naples. Amalfi is an easy 1 hour 15 minute drive from Naples airport. Rome is also possible but requires an extra train ride.
First things first - book ASAP (August is high season!) We highly recommend that guests stay in or near Amalfi city August 2 - 6 for ease of getting to the wedding events. Traveling by bus along the coast is often slow and time-consuming. For those who are staying within 15 minutes by car of Le Nereidi, we will have a private shuttle to drive you home. For guests staying further away, you can pay a small fee to the shuttle driver to get home (10 - 15 euros). When seeking accommodation, find a place walking distance to a bus stop if you are not renting a car. Also keep in mind that many places include lots of stairs to get to the entrance of the hotel. Here is a list of suggested accommodations: https://maps.app.goo.gl/2L8LeP4DQpxhdPSY8?g_st=ic
The options to travel along the Amalfi coast are (from cheapest --> priciest) bus, ferry, driving a car or moped, taxi, or private driver. DRIVING: Renting a car and driving along the Amalfi coast is very scenic and will allow you to explore much more in a short time, but it is not for the fainthearted. Driving in southern Italy can be dangerous, and parking is hard to find. A new rule only allows rental cars to drive every other day to reduce traffic. If you are up for the adventure, rent a small car that can handle narrow roads. The very adventurous can also rent a moped ("scooter") for 25 euros / day to scoot around traffic and park more easily in small spaces. LOCAL "SITA" BUSES: Bus stops are frequent in all the Amalfi coast villages. They run usually every 20-30 minutes (day ticket = €10, single trip = €1.30-2.40). Don't expect social distancing as these buses are packed in August! Amanda took these buses all along the coast and found it very doable, but beware of the schedules as some buses end early.
