Things To Do

Have downtime? Want to extend your weekend? Check out some of our favorite spots and other must see places in the downtown area.
Massachusetts Avenue

Massachusetts Avenue

Massachusetts Avenue, Indianapolis, IN

This is literally our favorite section of downtown and has so many great restaurants. It is totally walkable and you can kill a good chunk of your day on Mass Ave by eating, bar hopping and shopping. Tourist tip: If you're looking for souvenirs or unique gifts to bring home, check out Silver in the City!!!

NCAA Hall of Champions

NCAA Hall of Champions

700 West Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204

Tickets are around $10! Did you know that the NCAA headquarters is in downtown Indy? The Hall of Champions has authentic artifacts from every NCAA sponsored sport, simulators (even a skiing simulator), and other cool hands-on activities.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Indianapolis Motor Speedway

4790 West 16th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46222

The Indy 500 hype in May is absolutely unreal. Hoosiers LIVE for the Indy 500 and it is basically Indiana's entire personality the entire month of May, so you're here at a fun time. The track is a few minutes outside of downtown Indy and definitely worth a visit or at least a drive by.

Indianapolis Zoo

Indianapolis Zoo

1200 West Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46222

The Indianapolis Zoo is highly rated. You can feed kangaroos!!!!!!!!!

Indianapolis Canal Walk

Indianapolis Canal Walk

Canal Walk, Indianapolis, IN 46202

This is a scenic 3-mile loop around White River State Park and the heart of downtown Indy! You can even rent a pedal boat if you're not up to walking it. The canal route takes you past the Indiana 9/11 memorial, USS Indianapolis memoria, and has access to restaurants and the museums.

Lucas Oil Stadium

Lucas Oil Stadium

500 South Capitol Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46225

If available, take the stadium tour! Ashley has taken the tour 4 different times (are we surprised?) and no tour was exactly the same which makes it even more fun. If tours aren't available, just go find Peyton Manning on the front plaza at Capital Ave & South Street.

Gainbridge Fieldhouse & Bicentennial Plaza

Gainbridge Fieldhouse & Bicentennial Plaza

117 S Pennsylvania St, Indianapolis, IN 46204

Bicentennial Plaza is a cool spot to hang out and is only a couple blocks from your hotel.

Pins Mechanical Co.

Pins Mechanical Co.

856 Carrollton Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46202

Located right across the street from The Garage Food Hall. Have some drinks and play a game or two of duckpin bowling. They also have pinball machines, bocce, patio pong, foosball, and giant Jenga.

Back 9 Golf & Entertainment

Back 9 Golf & Entertainment

1415 Drover Street, Indianapolis, IN 46221

Just like Top Golf, but a way better time (at least we think so).

The Garage Food Hall

The Garage Food Hall

906 Carrollton Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46202

Jarred loves Lil Dumplings Noodle Bar and has said that the DanDan noodles would be his death row meal. Ashley loves the lobster roll from J's Lobster & Fish Market.

St. Elmo Steak House

St. Elmo Steak House

127 South Illinois Street, Indianapolis, IN 46225

St. Elmos is actually the most iconic spot in Indianapolis. It is the place to be during any major event in the city because you are pretty much guaranteed to meet a famous face. The staff have stories for days about the people who have passed through the restaurant! We cannot even explain it. If you are able to secure a reservation while you're in town, DO IT. Get the famous shrimp cocktail. Soak in the atmosphere. The food and the service are actually incredible.

Slippery Noodle Inn

Slippery Noodle Inn

372 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46225

The Slippery Noodle is a VIBE. It is the oldest bar in Indiana known for live blues music, is rich with history and is haunted as hell. It our go-to pregame spot on Colts gameday and we love it so much we just had to book our rehearsal dinner here.

Natural State Provisions

Natural State Provisions

414 Dorman Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202

We LOVE it here. They are known for their chicken (the buffalo chicken sandwich is BOMB).

Dugout Bar

Dugout Bar

621 Virginia Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46203

Happiness is at the Dugout. Come hang with us here after the reception!

Guggman Haus Brewing Co.

Guggman Haus Brewing Co.

1701 Gent Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46202

This is actually the best brewery in the Indianapolis area (and probably the entire state). The beer menu is very diverse and it is such a fun spot to chill at. If you're into sours, they have some of the best Ashley has had.
