We were members of the Hingham High School track team - one a senior and the other a more talented freshman. We re-connected online a few years after college when Meghan came over to watch a movie. After housing a bunch of pizza, beer, and feeling completely comfortable with each other, we decided that a second date wouldn't be so bad :)

Meghan's parents came to San Diego to visit us and we decided to go to the zoo followed by dinner downtown by the harbor. I had plans to make a pit-stop by Sunset Cliffs on our way to dinner to pop the question. While at the zoo, Meghan thought to herself that it would be a perfect time to propose - but she didn't see a box in my pockets. Little did she know, the ring was loosely in there with a tight grasp. The time at the zoo made it tough to get to the cliffs by sunset. Mark got sidetracked by the camels while Gayle fell in love with the elephants. To be honest, the smiles on their faces made the night even more special. We drove directly to dinner reservations at Brigantine restaurant. While waiting to be seated, Meghan and I went for a walk by the harbor. It was a beautiful night. In front of the lit-up and historic 'Star of India' vessel, I turned to Meghan. With the thought of no box visible in my pants, her reaction was priceless. I took the ring out of my pocket (now with it's imprint on my hand), got on one knee, and asked the love of my life to be my partner forever.
