Proposal

June 21st, 2019

This is Kyle. And here's my version of events for June 21st. I had planned the weekend weeks in advance. I had her niece commit to taking pictures and the day of, she notified me her sister was going to also be there to help! I was just floored. It would be so perfect! Ashley already knew I was going to ask her, as she had gotten her nails done 2 days previously. As we drove up 75 towards the sunflower farm , she was happy and we jammed out to music. I was unsure of what to talk about because I didn't want to say the wrong thing that could get her ticked off at me. That would be great, get to the sunflowers, and she refuses to get out because I brought up Trump/abortion/pasta/etc.! She's completely oblivious to these thoughts, but I'm already walking on eggshells driving in the car. I've entered the DO. NOT. MESS. THIS. UP. LAND. As we started to walk in , I was getting super nervous. Would there be 6,500 people ripping the heads off flowers while sugar laced red-headed stepchildren fought one another with sticky hands? Only time would tell. She quickly saw her nieces, and I was now on a mission to get the camera into Keirsten's hands and Ashley's hand and attention solely on ME! I quickly herded her into the first row of sunflowers that was empty, and got down on one knee. I spit out some words (I think I had the words Ashley and wife in there ) while I reached into my back pocket. Did I remember to put the ring in my pocket? What if it doesn't fit? WHAT IF IT DOESN'T FIT? Oh crap, she's shaking. She's crying. What if it doesn't fit? Did I just propose? Did I ask her to marry me, or did I just word vomit last night's prepacking trip list in my nervousness? I think I got it. Rings going on her finger up to the knuckle.... Darn! It's caught on her finger, IT'S TOO SMALL IT DOESN'T FI... Whew, it fits perfectly!!!! Yay! Keirsten's still taking pictures! I hope there are some good ones... And that was it! 🎶 Goin... to the chapel. And we're. GOIN TO GET MARRIED!🎶

How We Met

June 22nd, 2018

This is Ashley. So, Kyle and I virtually met on a dating website on 6/22/18. I had been on and off this site for years, giving up after a handful of first dates or messages that lacked meaningful content. His message changed the game. Kyle's first message to me started with "Wow!! Your profile is spot on!! I relate to almost everything you have down." He proceeded to mention reading The Bible daily & being on a life long mission to fill his spirit along with living in God's will. And he added, he was nowhere close to perfect but strived for it constantly by doing his best to serve others. We proceeded to message each other as we discussed life & our past, also sharing what each other were reading. Kyle was reading A Man Called Peter by Catherine Marshall & I was reading Love Does by Bob Goff. Our choice of books said a lot about us both, and fueled the conversation in the right direction. He asked me for my phone number, which I respectfully denied. I simply told him, he may not want my phone number after we meet. I asked if he would be open to meet for coffee. He accepted. Short meeting. No pressure. If we didn't hit it off, easy out. July 11, 2018. 4pm Java Monkey, Decatur, Ga. He sends me a message through the app that he was sitting outside with glasses on. He stood up and smiled as I approached, reaching out to give me a hug & handed me a boquet of beautiful sunflowers. A few thoughts of mine were, "He's handsome. I like his smile. He smells nice. Did he just pick out my favorite flowers for our first meeting?!." Things that stood out were his gentlemanly manners. Standing up when I stood up or sat down. Holding out my chair. His ability to make me laugh, A LOT, and just how easy the conversation flowed. Our first meeting was 2 hours of uninterrupted conversation. At the end of the "date", we exchanged phone numbers as he asked me out for our official "first date".

For all the days along the way
