When We Knew

From the very beginning, Scott and Faythe had multiple honest conversations about what they envisioned their lives looking like, as far as starting a family and building a future. The two realized quickly that their visions and dreams matched up. Within a few months of dating, the two began living together in Havana, IL, had stable jobs, and were planning and providing the life they both worked for, with each other. Faythe was finishing her Masters, while working a full-time job, Scott was on second shift, and hunting regularly, and all while taking care of Brantley. In December of 2020, the two found out that they were expecting a new little one, somewhat to their surprise, and Faythe was offered an amazing opportunity at one of the largest hospitals in the state! At this time, they knew it was time to buckle down and begin planning for their next big adventure. In June of 2021, they bought their first house together and moved their growing family to Mason City, IL. Since, the family has grown by one, in addition to four fur babies, and now Faythe gets to change her last name.

Our Engagement

August 21, 2021

Each year, Scott's family hosts a fish fry to celebrate the up-coming hunting season. Food, family, friends, and hunting, what could be better! Faythe was inside with Scott's mom, sisters, and a family friend, just talking and catching up. Scott came inside the house and told Faythe that someone was there to see her. She had no idea who it was..... to her surprise, Scott had arranged for her best friend to come up a day early for the surprise engagement. This did not give Faythe any ideas, but she was extremely happy to see Mikaela. Of typical fashion at the fish fry, the guys were outside shooting at clays and targets. Scott had set up a piece of plywood out near the field with four white pieces of paper on it. Each paper had a circle on it as a target. Scott had shot a few times, and offered to let Faythe shoot. Scott told Faythe to shoot at the bottom left corner target. Scott had written a message on one of the papers that read "Will you marry me?" Faythe looked through the scope, lined up her shot, and pulled the trigger. Faythe was supposed to see the message through the scope, but had yet to realize it. She lined up again to make sure she hit the target and was able to see that she did.... Scott's uncle told the two of them to go out to the target to check their shots. As they walked out to the target, and got just close enough, Faythe was able to read the message and turned around to see Scott down on one knee with a ring, asking her to marry him.... and OBVIOUSLY, SHE SAID YES!!!

Unplugged

Yes, I'm talking about your phones...

Please respect the bride and grooms wishes for an unplugged ceremony. We have hired a very talented photographer to capture our wedding and she knows how to do her job. Please make sure your phones are on silent before the start of the ceremony.
