Paige & Joe’s love story began the way all great ones do—in a Portland dive bar, over a perfectly poured pint. That one beer turned into countless adventures, from the rainy charm of Seattle to their newest chapter in North Carolina. They’ve made a habit of exploring new places—lingering over coffees, sipping wine under string lights, and letting live music lead the way. Paige is forever scouting homes with maximum tree coverage, while Joe keeps the plants inside alive and serves as the household Chef (lucky Paige). Together, they’ve turned every house into a home—Paige with her eye for cozy corners, Joe with his daily coffee ritual, and both constantly battling the ever-growing tumbleweeds of Lucy Hair (aka Goose). If these two can figure out how to survive a Southern summer together, it’s a pretty good sign they’re ready for forever. Now, they can’t wait to raise a glass with the people they love most and celebrate the next big adventure—marriage!

Joe wasn’t expected to propose until later that year, and Paige—being a planner by profession and by nature—was fully confident there was still plenty of time before anything life-changing would happen. So on a perfect sunny August day in 2024, she had absolutely no idea what was coming. She was surrounded by all her favorite things: her family, her best friend’s house in view, the boat gently bobbing in Eagle Harbor—home to so many of her childhood memories. A San Juan Seltzer in hand, her dad’s classic tunes playing over the speakers, and that quintessential August sunshine—the only time of year the PNW can be reliably counted on to deliver a golden day. By all accounts, it was already the perfect day. And then Joe dropped to one knee. Paige’s first words? “Are you kidding me?!”—shocked, completely caught off guard. But once it registered that, no, he was very much not kidding, her “yes” came quickly and without hesitation. The ring—originally her mom’s—only fit on her pinky, a telltale sign that this wasn’t the original plan. As it turns out, Joe had just picked it up from Paige’s mom with the intention of getting it resized for a proposal later in the year. But somewhere between handing over the ring and heading back downstairs (where Paige was literally just hanging out), her mom and sister-in-law Jane—both charmingly relentless—convinced him that there is no time like the present. And honestly, they were right. It couldn’t have been a more perfect day to say yes to forever.

We’re doing things a little differently for our celebration! Instead of a traditional sit-down dinner, we’re hosting a cocktail-style reception with passed bites, cozy seating, and lots of opportunities to mingle. Our hope is to create a relaxed, joyful atmosphere where everyone can move around, connect, and enjoy the evening together. Don’t worry—there will still be plenty of seats for those who’d like to kick back and get comfy!
