Wedding Party

The Wedding Website of Farron Hunt and Erik Martinez
We are so thankful for family and friends who love and support us. Each of our guests, not just the wedding party, have shaped us into who we are today. Here a few stories as to what make our wedding party so special.

Farron Hunt

Bride

She is the perfect blend of smart and silly. When I see her, I smile because I see my partner, my love, my greatest adventure. Farron is beautiful inside and out. You know she has a big heart if she can put up with someone as stubborn as me. It’s so sweet how she embraces her family and friends. She’s helped me to anticipate my time away from work. I love seeing her each day. I love that we can talk about anything from the latest music to pandas doing handstands. We’ve lip synced to Nas and Biggie and it’s cute how she bombed Lil Wayne A Milli. I enjoy each moment we have together, whether it’s ziplining over a 400 foot waterfall or scavenging for the last piece of a 1000 piece puzzle. We laugh through it all. We encourage each other. I hope to keep a smile on her face forever.

Erik Martinez

Groom

God has blessed me with peace and grace by way of Erik. He is strong, patient, supportive and silly. He keeps me beaming with his antics. Erik makes me feel protected, provided for, and loved with his easy going nature. He introduced me to the notion of family dinner and genuine quality time. He is kind and sees the best in others including me. Erik is smart, passionate and ambitious but never at the expense of family and our shared values. His diplomacy skills are to be envied which is why, of all things, our only argument has been over Argentinian shrimp! Erik has a sweet, kind twinkle in his eyes like I’ve never seen. He is noble. I trust him fully because I know he will always do what’s right. He’s my Superman! I can’t wait to call him HUSBAND. In short, he’s my Jupiter!

Candy

Father of the Bride

Yes. A grown man can be comfortable enough in his own skin to be called Candy. Roland Jackson is my dad but we all know and love him as Candy. He took Kaylon and I in when we were still learning cursive in elementary. He has a heart that just keeps on giving and I love him dearly. Candy can make anyone smile and he loves to have a good time. If you’re from Port Arthur, you know where to find him. That’s right, in his man cave garage commentating whatever sports game is on or answering all the questions correctly on Jeopardy.

Andrea Sheila Paul-Jackson

Mother of the Bride

Here is a modern day Rennaissance woman. There is nothing she can’t do! If you think I’m confident and fearless please know I get it from my mom. She embraces whatever challenge is at hand and finds a solution. She can be a bit unconventional (I get that from her too) but she is smart, strong, funny, confident, kind, and loving. She keeps me and those around her on our toes. She is the reason I speak “proper” and where I get all my smarts from. If I had given her enough time she would have built the gazebo we’ll be married under. No task is too big when it comes to her. If I look anything like her then I’m beautiful. I love her and thank her so much for her love and understanding.

Ellis Martinez

Father of the Groom

He’s rugged. He’s strong. He has led by example. He’s my dad. He has given me great counsel and supported my every endeavor. Most of all he’s shown me how to a be a family man and how to love Farron the way he loves mom. He makes it all look easy and does it with a smile. I’m proud he’s my dad and I hope to always make him proud.

Mary Martinez

Mother of the Groom

Unconditional love is the best gift she’s ever given me. She’s been my biggest cheerleader. I was an active, imaginative child. I would often wander off on my own whether at the Grand Canyon or in our backyard. Together with my dad they would search all over for me. Can you imagine that I ran off at Disney World? She is forever patient, optimistic, and prayerful. I’m so proud of all she has accomplished and I appreciate how hard she works. She’s encouraged my dreams and helped me stay on the right path.

Anderson Harrison III

Officiant

Who better to marry the couple than one of their oldest and closest friends? Farron and Erik met Andy in the 5th and 6th grades. Andy is the prototype for friendship with virtues of integrity, loyalty, and wisdom. He is discerning and trustworthy and there’s no shortage of good times when he’s around either. Andy definitely has a way with words. It’s no surprise that he was voted Mr. Classy in high school. He is dedicated and excels at all he does. There are simply no words to describe the tremendous impact and influence he’s had in their lives then, now, and forever. He can attest to their awkward and hilarious moments and has watched their relationship mature. In their hearts it is written that they will be friends forever. Andy is the perfect person to join them in holy matrimony.

Lucas Liscano

Best Man

Doesn’t this photo just say it all? Lucas is like my brother. We are cousins, classmates, and until recently roommates. We’ve done just about everything together starting way back in Boy Scouts. Even now we still indulge each other in video games and comic books. He is funny, creative, and tech savvy. If you see a drone flying overhead at the wedding, it just might be Lucas. I am honored to have him by my side for the big day.

Danielle Applin, JD

Matron of Honor

Who knew the girl down the hall would be my bestie for life? I call her Roommate Emeritus because she was my roommate in college and medical school. The thought of one day living next to her makes me smile. She’s taught me so much about myself and life. She is bold, confident, caring, and genuine. She has been my rock. She is my voice. I trust her with my life and beyond. She has such a big heart she took Erik and I in after Hurricane Harvey. There is no question that she will always have my back. We compliment each other so well and she broadens my world view. She is funny, savvy, intelligent. I’m so proud of our Texas Two Step to #2 at GreatAmazingRace! She’s even a board gamer and makes me feel cool for bringing a board game to a party. One day I’ll finally beat her at Phase 10!

Lillianne Wright, PhD

Matron of Honor

Lilli G as she is rightfully called is a ray of sunshine. In college we would study and then take off for a late night neosoul concert. She helped us land on the front page of the entertainment section of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She always knows the right thing to say and is more compassionate than Mother Theresa. She can and will find the cure to heart disease and cancer all the while remaining down to Earth and low key. She’s destined for more than just bench work. She is my Oprah! You can’t help but smile when you see her and have a good time in her presence.

Dane Dennison JD

Groomsman

Our friendship dates back to the 3rd grade. Even then he was a great story teller and often practicing his debate skills. As we got older it was fascinating to hear his random antics. It would be inappropriate to share any role I may or may not have played in said antics so I’ll just say we had a robust childhood. He is smart, charismatic, and has a way with words. Caution, don’t let his unassuming nature fool you. More than once, he’s been on top in Fantasy Football without even trying! In the end, Dane has a generous spirit and has been a reliable friend.

Nathanael Hall

Groomsman

I also met Nate in the 3rd grade and together we all had a good time. I remember riding my bike to his house. With Nate there’s never a dull moment. Nate has always been the talented athletic one with a left sided lay up I could never block. He is a thespian by trade and naturally he helped carry our Odyssey of the Mind team to 4th in the state. I can always count on Nate to be the first person to wish me Happy Birthday. He is thoughtful, good natured, and fun to be around.

Leah Jacobs

Maid of Honor

We’ve been kicking it since Thomas Blvd Church of Christ. We were officially classmates beyond Sunday school in the 6th grade. Leah is the definition of peace and perseverance. She has been a tower of strength in my life and I owe part of my medical degree to her. She encouraged me every step of the way and knew I could do it. She embodies cool, calm, and collected. Leah is dependable, thoughtful, and creative, and she adds peace to any endeavor.

Kamilah Smith

Maid of Honor

Do you have someone who will indulge your wacky, far out notions and simply laugh with you not at you? I do. Kamilah is really my sister. We have shared in each other’s journeys around the world figuratively and literally. She was raised in Los Angeles so she was my first pen pal. To be near her, I even followed her to college. I can be myself with her. She loves me for me and adds such great joy to my life. We can just laugh for hours and then laugh some more about laughing. Ahh what joy! I’m tearing up now just thinking of how extraordinary she is. I’m so thankful to have her by my side.

Brittani Collins

Wedding Planner

People Magazine keeps getting it wrong because Brittani is one of the most beautiful people I know. I don’t just mean outer beauty. She’s my cousin but more like my little sister. She has the heart of an angel. I always feel the need to protect her but really she holds her own. She actually looks out for me. She is kind, gracious, loving, smart, patient, supportive, stylish, dedicated, a great mom, and a great person. On top of that she’s got a knack for design and decor. Check out Events by Brittani Nicole!

Ami Green

Stylist

I miss the days of sliding across the wood floors in our socks thinking we were “wood skating.” I have looked up to her since elementary. We recited state capitols for fun, created a designer clothes line (on paper), and she taught me the latest dance moves. I owe my high school wardrobe to her hand me downs. She was my older cousin and in the know. She still is. Now, yet again, she’ll make sure I have the right look for my big day.
