Airports

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA): This is the closest airport to Prince William Forest Park and the airport that we recommend the most. DCA is about a forty minute drive (37 miles) from Prince William Forest Park. Dulles International Airport (IAD): IAD is about a fifty minute drive to Prince William Forest Park (32 miles). Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI): BWI is about a hour and fifteen minute car ride from Prince William Forest Park (70 miles). We would probably advise that you don't fly into BWI unless you find very affordable flights. If you would like to share a ride with someone to and from the airport, please indicate that on the Pre-RSVP Form. Once everyone signs up, we'll help folks coordinate carpools. https://forms.gle/De6BWCQpkSPTgA3h8 **All ride share apps and taxis from these airports can take you to and from Prince William Forest Park. Depending upon the time of day, ride share apps usually charge around $50.00 from and to DCA and IAD. There are also plenty of car rentals at each of these airports.**

Train

Amtrak

For those coming from nearby cities in the Northeast, we recommend avoiding the airport hustle (and the carbon emissions) in favor of the Amtrak. The drive from Union Station is about the same, clocking in around 50 min, and there are lots of trains to / from DC.

Rental Car

Car rental?

You can catch an Uber, Lyft or old fashioned taxi cab to Happyland from any of the above locations, and we'll be offering a shuttle from the hotel on Sun evening (and maybe Sat, too). Uber and Lyft are also available in the area for anyone wishing to join us at times that shuttles are not available, or for folks wishing to travel from camp into the nearby town. Hotel

To Camp, or not to camp?

Everyone is welcome to stay with us at camp! All cabins are rustic but have surprisingly comfy twin mattresses, electricity, room for 2-10 guests, and bathhouses with toilets and showers just a few steps away. There are also group dormitories that are a little more modern, can sleep 26, and have bathrooms and showers onsite. You can bring your own linens, or we are looking into rentals. If you'd like to stay at camp, please let us know when you RSVP by clicking "will attend" to the first event, "Do you plan to stay in a cabin?" We will ask a small contribution of around $50 per person to help cover costs. For those wishing a little more comfort (and air conditioning), there are many hotels to choose from under 10 min drive from Happyland. See options below!

Hampton Inn Dumfries / Quantico

We have rooms blocked out at this hotel at a rate of $159 per night. We'll also provide a shuttle from from / to this hotel for the Sun wedding ceremony and reception (maybe Sat, too). This hotel is about 8 miles or a 15 minute drive from our camp site. Guests will be able to use ride share apps and taxis to and from this hotel for other events.
