We’re Getting Married

Malik and Alexis (better known as Leek and Lex) met on the campus of the FIRST HBCU Lincoln University in 2016. While in the cafe, they were introduced by a mutual friend as they were both from Baltimore. Their mutual friend jokingly started rapping “Bird Flu” by Lor Scoota and Malik started to cut up. Soon after that, they started following each other on social media. Months go by and Malik FINALLY decides to “slide in the dms” laughing at a post Alexis made. There wasn’t a day that went by that they weren’t texting and meeting up on campus to hang out. And from there it was history…April 15th will make 6 years since they have been together.

Leek told Lex that they would be going to see Christmas lights which they have done since being together. They decided to go to Enchant Christmas at the Washington Nationals Stadium. To Lex it seemed like a regular date night, but oh to her surprise Leek had some tricks up his sleeve. After walking around the Christmas light maze, Leek and Lex decided they wanted to take some pictures. Luckily, a family walked up and was generous enough to take their picture. While asking the lady to take the picture, Leek snuck and asked her to take a video instead and while they were taking pictures he got down on one knee and asked Lex to marry him. OF COURSE, she said YESSSS! We can’t wait to celebrate with you all on October 14th, 2023!
