It all started at a high school party (thanks, Ben Cooley!), where we met and immediately became the two friends who did everything together—even if we weren’t technically “official” just yet. High school prom? Yep, we went together. Every party? You bet. And while we never had a label back then, everyone knew we were meant for eachother. We went on our first date in April 2017 but in the fall of 2017, we both started our college journeys—I went to WVU, and Jay went to UMD. We didn’t speak much for a few months as we adjusted to college life, but fate had other plans. We reconnected over winter break, and it was like no time had passed at all. We began dating long distance March 25, 2018. By 2019, I transferred to UMD, and from that point on, we were practically inseparable. From every date party to every away weekend and every cabin trip in between if one of us was there, you could bet the other was too. We might be doing things backwards—first the dog, then the house and now, the wedding—but we’ve always known this was the way it was meant to be! In May 2021, at our college graduation after party (and after a few too many drinks), I found myself babbling to one of Jay’s frat brothers, telling him that they were all invited to our wedding… long before we even had a date. Spoiler alert: here we are, and Andrew Poppel is still invited! Since then, we've tackled it all—graduating, surviving house renovations (we’re still here to talk about it!), and taking on adulthood side by side. In February 2023, we added our fur-baby, Penny, to the family and in February 2024, we bought our first home. Now, we’re beyond excited to take the next step and say “I do” to forever. And if we’ve survived everything up to this point, we know we can handle anything the future throws our way!
