When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” ― Paulo Coelho Faisel & Laura come from opposite sides of the world only to meet at the only class they took together at SJSU, Finance. His favorite subject, her least favorite. During the semester, Laura sought some tutoring since she wasn't doing well in the class. Her classmate/friend, Dalya, mentioned she knew someone who could help them study to pass. Guess who it was? It happened to be the one guy that would always answer Laura's questions in class for the professor, Faisel (which Laura found to come off as arrogant). Both passed the class in addition to gaining a friendship. Coincidentally, Faisel & Laura worked across the street from each other, so they often met for coffee or food. Inspired by many great conversations about their dreams, travels, cultures, politics, and religions, they realized that, despite their differences, their similarities were undeniable.

Faisel and Laura's first date was at Carmel/Big Sur, surrounded by God's beautiful nature, it was hard to resist falling in love. Their love certainly came with many trials, especially as two young dreamers looking to build their personalities and careers. At times, uncertainty clouded their relationship, but they knew that nothing worthwhile comes easy. Through prayer and faith, they continued to work and build their relationship until the moment finally came. After 4.5 years together, on June 23, 2018, surrounded by friends and family, Faisel went on one knee and asked Laura to marry him. Her response, "Yes, of course!"

God willing, there are many things Faisel and Laura are looking forward to once they're united by God's grace. To share a few, as always, they are seeking to grow in faith, knowledge, travel, foster their communities, pursuing entrepreneurship, overcoming the impossible and most of important of all, help one another become the version that God is calling them both to be. Alongside, you and others, their loved ones, they are grateful for having every single one of you present on the day that will mark as the start of their new chapter together. Get ready to celebrate!
