Bonnet Springs Park
We're not a couple that gatekeeps! The venue we've picked is so much more than its ballroom; it's a sprawling urban and natural park with a multitude of walkways and areas to sit and soak up the sun! Grab a snack or a drink from the Depot Cafe and explore picturesque areas on the Canopy Walk, near the Boathouse, or the Butterfly House near the Event Center. The Joinery
If you don't want to stick to one option for food, the Joinery has many to pick and choose from! Aaron and Evyr particularly enjoy getting poke bowls and sushi burritos from Ato, and then stopping by Mayday for a sweet treat! This food hall sits across the street from Lake Mirror, that has a walkable promenade around it for evening strolls. HOURS: Monday - Thursday 11am-9pm Friday + Saturday 11am-11pm Sunday 11am-9pm
Fancy Farms Market
January is notable in Florida because it's STRAWBERRY SEASON! This quaint market near the Lakeland Linder Airport is soo worth it. Their strawberry shortcakes, milkshakes, and cookies are simply amazing! Not a sweet person, pop over for lunch and get their BBQ pork sandwich, which is made with a surprisingly good strawberry BBQ sauce! Hours: Monday-Saturday 10AM-5PM
Hollis Garden
Hollis Garden is a formal botanical display garden on a 1.2-acre site located within historic Lake Mirror Park. Here you will find over 10,000 flowers, ornamental shrubs, and native trees. HOURS: Sunday - Thursday: 10 AM – 6 PM Monday: CLOSED Friday & Saturday: 10 AM – 4 PM
Mitchell's Coffee House
Aaron loves coffee. Evyr loves breakfast. Mitchell's is perfect for both! (If you're not a coffee drinker like Evyr, she recommends getting a chai tea latte and asking for vanilla and brown sugar syrup in it. Warm and comforting!) HOURS: Monday-Saturday 7:00a - 5:00p Closed Sunday
Palace Pizza
Craving pizza? This is the best spot downtown. Aaron goes crazy over the cannolis, and Evyr is always reminded of her home state of New York when she gets a slice fresh from the oven! HOURS: Monday - Thursday 11:00am - 9:00pm Friday - Saturday 11:00am - 9:30pm Sunday 11:00am – 8:00pm
Revival
Whenever Aaron and Evyr are in the mood for a good cocktail and a date night out, Revival is the perfect spot. The bartenders are super nice, and if you don't know what you like, they help create a great custom cocktail based on your tastes (if it's not busy of course). The Ashley Gibson Barnett Museum of Art at Florida Southern College
The Polk Museum of Art, founded in 1966 by a dedicated group of Lakeland, Florida community residents, is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit arts organization and Smithsonian Affiliate accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. It serves 140,000 local and global visitors annually through a diverse schedule of exhibitions and art education programs. The museum has free admission, and parking is available in the lot they share with the Lakeland Public Library. HOURS: Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 4pm Sunday, 1 to 5pm
