Don't miss the cenotes in Tulum! Cenotes are natural freshwater pools formed by the collapse of surface limestone that exposes ground water underneath. They are great for snorkeling, diving, and bat sightings. :) Our favorite is Dos Ojos, but Gran Cenote is also great. Bring cash for snorkel gear and entrance-fee.
Need a break from your cocktail and lounge chair? The ruins are definitely worth a visit. They're right on the coast, a short cab (or long bike) ride away.
Tulum is known for its yoga, and there's no better place to check out a class than the ocean-front studio at Sanara Tulum. The latest schedule is here: http://www.sanaratulum.com/activities/
Great people watching and swings (!!!) at this beach club & bar. Maybe our favorite spot to grab a drink in Tulum.
Better than Italy! Owned by Italian expats, Posada Margherita has some of the freshest pasta and pizza around, in a gorgeous space right on the beach. They're also known for their fresh juices.
Some of the best food in Tulum. Daily changing menu based on what's fresh, all cooked over a wood-fired oven. Walk-ins are welcome, but better yet, make reservations up to a month in advance at reservations@hartwoodtulum.com.
Most hotels have bikes available, and there are tons of places to rent them. We love renting bikes and riding down the main beach road.
