Connor Brown

Best Man

How do we even begin to talk about the best man Connor Brown or as most of you know him, Brownie. Connor and I met back at Hobart and shook hands for the first time the night we both thought it would be a good idea to join a fraternity that would ultimately be run by Pete Tardelli (see below). At Hobart we made endless poor decisions but this one lead to truly the start of a friendship I could not have ever imagined. Our friendship went beyond Hobart and into NYC where Brownies biggest value add (besides himself) was an A/C unit dating back to 1984. We worked in the same office at 11 Madison Ave making cold calls for Yelp where my alarm clock was him frequently shouting into our bathroom mirror “NOT AGAIN!” referring to the fact that in 1 hour we would literally be working in a call center. A few career changes and years later Brownie moved west. I did what any normal best friend would do and moved into his building with my girlfriend 1.5 years after him where Gen has also grown to love him just as much as me. Nothing makes us happier than knowing that Connor is the best man for this ceremony and beyond.

Chris Troy

Groomsman and Officiant

Chris Troy, Dr. Troy, Dr. Soy Sauce... it really depends on who you ask. Chris and I were buddies in college but it surly was the New York City days that made us best friends. Was it solidified on one of the countless nights he slept on our couch in Hells Kitchen? Or maybe it was at 4AM in Skyline Deli while Chris ordered what is no lie a "Seafood Delight" wrap with feta cheese. I am willing to bet that it was probably more so when we lived together on the Upper Westside having movie nights on our roof and countless orders from Yu Kitchen. All that said, there is no one standing up with us that has been a part of our life together from the start like Chris has. Don't let his George Costanza demeanor fool you, this is the sharpest guy and the wedding and we are thrilled he can officiate.

Peter Tardelli

Groomsman

I first met Peter in November 2010 standing outside "The Cooler" Hobart's ice hockey rink. An older student was nice enough to introduce me to Peter who at the time was rocking a mustache and a fanny pack (not even lying). It was clear I made a lasting impression because Peter did not talk to me again till September 2011. However, since then he has been the older brother I never had. Helping me get my start in cold call sales at Yelp (great friend, huh?), to international trips, countless weddings and being there for moments both big and small. Despite me only having 1.4K Instagram followers, he is kind enough to be here with Gen and I for our special weekend and I am so excited to be able to call him one of my closest friends.

Kieran Wilson

Groomsman

My oldest friend in the world! Kieran Wilson, Keek the Sneek, my first best friend. This guy knows more about me than my own parents. From innocent beach days to not-so-innocent Hannah Duane house parties, Kieran and I have grown up together. He was the guy who kept me in the loop and made sure I was included, even after I ratted on him to the cops at a Starland bonfire. In my defense he was busted anyway, I was just expediting the process so we could continue with the party. He has been by my side for almost my entire life and without him up here it would not be the same. We are so lucky to share this day with him.

John Tosto

Groomsman

This guy needs no introduction. At one point he was signing my paychecks (metaphorically of course). From former boss to one of my very best friends John Tosto is truly a role model. Is it because he bought Tesla stock before I knew what a Tesla was? Maybe it’s because after having 10 beers he will jump off the side of a speed boat going 45MPH without thinking twice. To be honest, it is a combination of the two. I have been lucky enough to enjoy times with JT in Colorado snowboarding (he’s sick), Golf Trips in NJ/FL/NY as well as shirtless nights in Hoboken bars (don’t worry, we did not stay long. John and his partner April have become such great friends to Gen and I and having them here on our special weekend means the world to us both.

Dylan Ferro

Groomsman

Dilly Dilly! One of the kindest guys I know. Just like two others up here, Dylan and I met at our days at Yelp. In all honesty, I knew nothing about Dylan besides he was a Jewish guy from Long Island (small world), liked the NY Rangers and Brownie thought he was cool. Sold. I made it a point to sit with him during a company all hands meeting, and he has been one of my best friends ever since. We went on to try and create trends together that both crashed and burned. I have in mind the Dood-erang (3 second videos of us on a loop) as well as the Instagram account “@Cushiondaddyseat” (two bigger guys who like food). From that all hands meeting to being COVID buddies with Gen and Rachel (Dylan’s wife), we are truly so lucky to have Dylan with us this special weekend. Even if he is a little hard of hearing.

Hunter Pawloff

Groomsman

Hunter and I met in in NYC at a Philly themed bar called Shortys at an unsanctioned Yelp happy hour. I remember this because our mutual friend Peter insisted we meet and that we would get along great. With that information in hand, naturally, Hunter ignored me for most of the evening focusing his attention towards his friends Brian and Noah. As you can see by who I am marrying, I did not let Hunter playing hard to get stop me from making him one of my best friends. What followed after that night at Shortys was nothing less than an incredible friendship. Jazzfest in New Orleans, Rangers games, weekends in Vermont and eventually having the honor of standing with Hunter at his own wedding to his lovely wife Izzy. Although that first night left me slightly confused I am convinced he knew what he was doing and it was a calculated plan to become one of my closest friends. He has been nothing but incredible to both myself and now Gen and we could not imagine this day without Hunter.

John Liston

Groomsman and MC

It is no surprise that John and I have had much less time to create the memories that I have with all my other groomsmen but that does not matter when dealing with a guy like him. Out of all of Gen’s siblings, I was most nervous to meet him. He made a couple of quips about us living in Boca Vista Florida via facetime and I thought I was dealing with a grade A ball buster. However, nothing could have been further from the truth. I’m not sure if that’s because he is a great guy or if it’s because I made it a point to put a beer in his hands 3 seconds after our hello. I am guessing the beer bought me some much-needed time to win him over. As a Christmas gift, John took us to a wave pool to go surfing. Like a brother in law would, he proved to be the superior athlete and even listened as I dreamt up a half-baked business plan to open up a similar wave pool franchise in Palm Springs (pending investors of course). From our short time together, we had two Christmases which was two more than I ever had and a great New Years celebration. It was at New Year’s I whispered to Gen “is it weird if I ask him to be a groomsman?” I saw her face light up and I knew the idea made her just as happy as it did for me. Since then, we have been able to connect more than ever and I have gotten to know his girls and his hysterical/amazing wife Erica more and more. Thank you for going easy on me John and we are so lucky to have you up here with us.

Kieran Grogan

Groomsman

Kieran Grogan! Grogan and I go back to the Hobart days. After meeting Kieran, I knew this was someone I needed to be friends with. Unfortunately, I wasted a year and we did not get close till 2011. At that point, it felt like we did everything together. I pretty much could not have a meal without the guy. It all got that much better when Junior year spring break rolled around. Everyone bailed on the camper van road trip with wanted to take except the two of us. We loaded up my 4Runner and spent the week cruising down to Charleston making plenty of stops along the way and even bringing a stranded college student to colonial town Williamsburg in VA (not a town worth visiting). The laughs and good times always seemed to follow Kieran unless it was intramural softball. See what we all know and love about Kieran, is it’s hard to get him to do something he does not want to do. Even if it is having him tag up on 3rd and running home in a 1 run game against the soccer house on a deep fly ball with 1 out on the board (people don’t forget Kieran). Besides that terrible game of softball, it has been great times with Kieran. He helped get me into cybersecurity (my first and second job), has been such a great friend and industry mentor. We are so lucky to have you in our life and right around the corner.
