Our Story

Dear Wedding Guest,

*Record scratch* Yup, that’s us. I bet you’re wondering how we got here… well, it's kind of a funny story. Now, because this is a story—and much to the amusement of this writer, not a screenplay for once—I’m going to need to ask you a favor. I need you to use that powerful little noggin of yours and cue up Baba O’Riley by The Who. The Lowrey Berkshire Deluxe TBO-1 electronic organ whirls up, light piano keys, that cool as hell drum break… "Out here in the fields, I fight for my meals!" Now picture that sick as hell rewind montage of Connor and Evelyn’s relationship going all the way back to the beginning. Read this part out loud: Vroom. Got it? Great. Montage over. Oh boy, take a whiff. Can you smell it? That’s right, baby, it’s that sweet, sweet smell of Biden’s America. Alright, all jokes aside, it’s November 12th in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-one, and as fate would have it, two worlds are about to collide into a champagne supernova of love and iridescent sparkles that will have the Big Bang handing over her trophy for coolest fireworks show to ever go down in the universe. It’s a classic West Side story, minus the musical numbers. Sorry to disappoint, theater kids. Anyways, Evelyn Anna Danciger, an East Side girl, found herself on the West Side at her sister Audrey’s birthday party when Ian, the plus-one to her plus-one, asked her the fateful question: “Aye, is it cool if my friend Connor and some of his friends come through?” And for whatever stroke of good fortune struck the hour, she replied, “Sure! WHY NOT?” Moments later, Connor, a West Side boy and fresh transplant to the City of Angels, got a text message from the very same Ian: “Yo, want to come crash this party? Lol.” And for the sake of time, let’s just say these two ran smack dab into each other at Audrey’s birthday party. Connor said something like, “So who do you know here?” and Evelyn said something like, “My sister,” and maybe it would have ended there. Both living on the polar opposite sides of Los Angeles, it sure should have ended there… but love does funny things to otherwise rational people, and a few weeks later they ran into each other on one of those crazy dating apps (for all the boomers reading this, it’s like Facebook for people who want to f… fall in love). From that moment on, they never let go again. Countless jokes, endless bits, a few musical numbers, at least one rap battle, and a whole lot of smooching later, they are about to tie the knot and make this thing forever official. Breaking from the third person (hi, this is Connor & Evelyn), we both just want to thank all of you wonderful people in our lives for reveling in this joyous celebration with us and helping us craft a love story. So, with smiles on our faces, hearts filled to the brim, bellies bursting with laughter, and sweet misty tears in our eyes, we want to welcome you all to the party. Cheers. Love, E & C
