Best Man
Andrew has been instrumental in Evan's growth as a person, coach and educator. One of the most patient human beings to ever exist, Evan would not be where he is at today without the help and guidance from Andrew.
Maid of Honor
Judy is Tina's brilliant younger sister. Judy previously worked for NASA and just received her Ph.D. in Virology. She defended her thesis in front of the distinguished Dr. Charles Rice. If you don't know who that is, then you must not study science. Judy currently lives in New York City with her husband Sean, but we hope they will move back to California soon where the weather is clearly much nicer!
Best Man
Evan met Hunter way back in preschool/kindergarten. Hunter is the reason why when anyone ever says wow Evan you are so tall, and Evan does not believe them. Since Hunter is 6'6'' and his brother was 6'9'', Evan always felt short!
Bridesmaid
Kathy is Tina's oldest friend. Tina first met Kathy at John Muir Elementary in sixth grade. Kathy was the new student in January, and Tina was the new student in February. The two were best of friends in middle school, high school, college, and beyond and have thankfully never been more than a few miles apart their entire lives (other than a few years where Kathy was in Singapore). Kathy is a medical social worker and has traveled to almost 50 different countries! She enjoys doing muay thai for fun.
Groomsman
My memories of Ben are numerous. So many weekends, vacations and summer time we spent at each others parents house hanging out. It seems just yesterday we were in Prunedale down in the basement playing Super Nintendo and racing in Top gear, or playing Harvest Moon and trying to save the town from going bankrupt! Fun fact, Ben's super power is that he is a human Google search bar. Just ask him, and somehow he just knows the information you are looking for!
Bridesmaid
Jennifer is one of Tina's oldest friends. The two, along with Kathy, were part of the "egg salad" posse where they would discuss in extraordinary detail their love lives and lack of love lives, over ramen, hot pot, gourmet ice cream, and all other sorts of goodies, until each of them found the love of their lives. Jennifer is a former aficionado of Coca-Cola and has since moved on to ice cream and boba. She is one of the most empathetic and passionate human beings on earth.
Groomsman
A younger brother that tormented, I mean has been an integral part of my life. Without Scott in my life, who knows, I might not have developed insomnia from when he was but a youngling asking me an endless number of questions (such as why is the sky blue, how come apples are red, why does this bed have another bed on top of it) until the wee hours of the morning. Even with the insomnia aside, Scott has always been there to lend his intelligence, hard work, and support whenever it was needed. One could not ask for a better younger brother than Scott.
Bridesmaid
Christine and Tina became close friends in high school. The two had many fun adventures throughout the city of Los Angeles, where both lived while attending grad school at USC and during life after grad school. Christine used to live in the smallest studio in LA and now compensates for those times by living in what can only be described as a gigantic mansion in San Diego with her husband and son. Christine is an engineer and truly enjoys calculus.
Groomsman
I met Ian later on in life then the other groomsmen. Ian was actually one of Scott's friends back in high school that came over to our parents house. Through our mutual love of video games, anime, dungeons and dragons we also became friends. Ian has been a big part of my family life, and has always lent a helping hand to everyone in my family whenever we needed it. Ian has been there for me and my family in times of sadness, need, and happiness, and we will forever be thankful to him for everything.
Officiant
Aukeem is the former Assistant Director (aka assistant principal) at Tina's previous school. Affectionately called "Mama Bear," Aukeem is one of the most understanding and compassionate people Tina has ever met and remembers almost word-for-word everything she has said to him before. Aukeem is originally from Seattle and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at UC Berkeley. Tina and Evan are so excited that Aukeem will be officiating their ceremony!
Mother and Father of the Groom
What can be said about Mom and Dad that has not been said already. They are the greatest, kindest, most thoughtful, giving, empathetic, caring, and every other positive adjective in the dictionary. Without their guidance, I would not be who I am today. They taught me how to be a good person, work hard, and how to help others. They gave me so, so much, and I hope I can make them proud, and one day, be as awesome of a parent as they were to my future children.
Mother and Father of the Bride
Diana and William are Tina's parents. They came from Taiwan to the United States in the early 1980's, so William could pursue his Ph.D. at the University of Michigan. (Tina clearly knows a lot of people with Ph.D.'s.) Tina was born in Michigan during this time. Upon William completing his doctorate, Diana and William moved the family to the Bay Area, where they have lived since. Diana and William are incredibly hardworking people, and Tina is so blessed to have them as parents!
Groom's Cat
Sky's favorite human is Evan. Her favorite activities are eating, playing, climbing on high places, eating, and getting pets. If Sky were a human, she would enjoy pumpkin-spice lattes.
Bride's Cat
Luna is technically Evan's cat, but her favorite human is Tina, as Tina is the chosen one. Intelligent but naturally skittish, she let Tina pet her on the first day they met. Her favorite spots in the house are on Tina's lap or on Tina's spot on the couch. She is a Ravenkitty and second only to Tina, but well above Evan and Sky on the totem pole.
