One of the prettiest hikes!
Super easy "hike" mostly just a drive and then a small walk to the tower. Wonderful views! From Franklin, travel west on US 64 to old US 64 (Old Murphy Road). Turn right and go 0.2 miles to SR 1310 (Wayah Road). Turn left and continue for 9 miles to Wayah Gap, then turn right on FR 69. Follow the gravel road for 4.5 miles to the parking area.
Outdoor adventure park featuring treetop zip lines, a giant swing, and nature trails.
This section of the Bartram Trail is simply beautiful. It boasts a stunning waterfall, breathtaking views, multiple stream crossings, and lush greenery, offering something for everyone. The trail is relatively easy until the last mile and a half, where it begins its ascent to Rabun Bald. However, the incredible panoramic views that await you at the top are well worth the effort. Longer Hike 8.3 miles round trip
This is a beautiful walk along the creek, which features multiple waterfalls and views. It's a relatively steady but easygoing incline to the top and then back via the same route. There are several side trails leading down to the water along the way. There is not much cell service in the area, so it's a good idea to download the map before setting out. The trail begins near the Sky Valley Overlook, which has a small parking lot.
