We actually first met in middle school. We had a few classes together during the first semester of 7th grade, and it didn’t take long for us to realize we liked each other. We had a little connection at school and even went on a date or two. In fact, our very first date was at the local Franklin movie theater. But we were so young then that we don’t even count that as us “dating.” A couple of years later, we ended up having more classes together during our freshman year of high school. At first, it felt a little awkward since we had liked each other so much in middle school and things hadn’t worked out because we were so young. But not long after that, Evan joined the track team. He later told Sky that the reason he joined was just so we could spend more time together. One thing led to another, and we started getting much closer again. Before long, we were wishing we had even more classes together. We’ll never forget how Evan asked Sky to be his girlfriend. One morning during breakfast at school, he walked up to the table where Sky was sitting with all her friends, got down on one knee with a bundle of flowers, and asked, “Sky, will you be my girlfriend?” From that moment on, the rest is truly history for us. We’ve been together ever since. P.S. Evan always says he got down on one knee because he thought Sky would think it was funny. Little did he know that was the moment we both started our forever.
We have two beautiful girls and one very handsome boy. We are so blessed to have the most amazing family, and yes, the animals are our children! Nova is the oldest; we got her when Willow got her brother, Boone. They both came from a great shelter. Nova is a mixed breed of mostly Australian Shepard and German Shepard, she even has a little Pitbull in her! Nova is 4 years old, and she is the sweetest dog, unless she doesn't know you! Maggie is the middle child, and she is the dog you get after because your first one is so good. She is our little escape artist! She is a little wild and carefree. Our friend Mack found her by the road and told us she needed a home, and we could not say no to such a sweet girl. We have not had her DNA tested yet, but we are pretty sure she is fully German Shepard. She definitely keeps us on our toes! Last but certainly not least is our little one-eyed Jack. He is a mix of the two other babies! He is either the sweetest, velcro cat, or he is the most rambunctious animal that has ever lived. We also took Jack in as a stray, and we could not be happier to have him in our little family. He reminds us a lot of my childhood cat Galaxy because that little cat can put 2-3 cans of cat food down! We are so blessed to have the most loving little fur babies!!
