Our Story

Mindy and Evan met in NYC in 2018. This is the first picture ever taken with both of us in it. (Evan asked Mindy out that week, and she said no - miraculously, they still became friends afterwards.)

During the pandemic, Evan started calling his friend Mindy to pass the time. He would go kayaking and call her from this beach every day for at least 2 hours a day for nearly 5 months.

Evan visited Mindy in CO over New Year's 2021. She introduced him to her friends the Filipkowskis. John Filipkowski immediately asked "So how long y'all been datin?" Mindy blushed and couldn't answer.

Mindy and Evan both attended the same college (the same one we both toured when we met back in 2018), and they officially started going steady in August of 2021 (right after Mindy moved to NYC).

Evan brought Mindy and her sister Ellie to the Dubai World Expo. This was the first of many, many wonderful adventures they would have together.

The next couple of years were wonderful. Through all of life’s ups and downs, Mindy and Evan could trust each other with anything. It helped that Evan was really funny.

The months following Evan's graduation were difficult, but Mindy ardently supported him (despite also trying to transfer schools and afford housing). That's when Evan knew Mindy was the one for him.

On Christmas Day of 2024, after three years together, Evan gave Mindy her Christmas present (and also asked if she'd marry him). It was very efficient, especially since Mindy said yes.

My favorite romantic comedy was falling in love with Mindy.
