Meet the bride! MeKaila Pearl Holly was born and raised in the tiny town Broadway, North Carolina. Her musical adventures and career in music therapy landed her in Ohio of 2022, where she settled and later met the absolute love of her life in 2024. MeKaila enjoys learning more about herself, the world, and people around her every day using music to help deepen her understanding. Her favorite thing about Evan is how thoughtful, gentle, and kind he is in moments of chaos and calm alike. He never ceases to make her smile and encourages her every day to live life to the fullest. MeKaila looks forward to a long life with Evan and growing a family one day!

The brides sister and built in bestie! Growing up, these two were always at odds, but now they’re nearly inseparable. Although they live in different places, they keep in touch regularly thanks for FaceTime and travel! Mackenzie’s favorite memory with MeKaila: “When MeKaila was in 2nd grade, she got off the bus crying because a girl was bullying her. I (only 4 years old) was FURIOUS because I was the only one allowed to be mean to her, DUH said “WHERES SHE AT! I’ll punch her in the nose” 🤪 I think my favorite memory of us, is that we used to fight like cats and dogs… couldn’t get along to save our lives… until one day, we just didn’t. One day I realized, hey she’s kinda cool & I wanna be friends and we have been besties ever since 🩵”

Sister of the groom and a new bonus built in bestie! Kelsey and MeKaila enjoy talking about music, work, and life adventures! They have enjoyed getting to know each other over the past couple of years and look forward to many more adventures in the future as sister in laws! Kelsey’s favorite memory with MeKaila: going black friday shopping with you and being able to spend one-on-one time! i feel like we bonded a lot amidst the shopping chaos and had a lot of fun that entire week! ❤️

One of the brides forever friends from college! These buddies met as music therapy students and are now both board certified music therapists! With both ladies being natural fiddle players and vocalists, orchestra rehearsals were never a dull moment. There was always some sort of mischief that these two found themselves in! You might even catch them both with bare feet at the wedding reception in some sort of deep philosophical conversation 😉 Rayelle’s favorite memory: Harmonizing together, living together over the summer, catching burritos on fire in the microwave and all the love and laughter we share 🧡

Cassidy and MeKaila were college roommates! After meeting virtually via facebook, these two became nearly inseparable throughout their college days. With both lovely humans being music therapy students, both are now music therapists who very much love sharing the healing power of music in diverse settings. Cassidy is an accomplished horn player and loves to bust out the guitar with a good tune! To hang around with Cassidy is to ensure a good belly laugh and an unforgettable memory. 🫶🏻 Cassidy’s favorite memory: Drumming at 2am in our dorm room, throwing pillows at you from the bottom bunk because you hit snooze 27 times every morning, late night dorm room conversations about everything and anything, finding your random Oreos all over the dorm, and laughing with you literally any time we were together!

Jessica is also a forever friend that MeKaila made in college! As a fellow music therapy student, these two spent many late night hours suffering together in a practice room. Jessica is a lovely pianist who helped MeKaila survive piano classes. Their exploration of existential dread bonded them almost as much as their passion for music. As board certified music therapists, both women work in hospitals and share a unique sense of humor! Catch these two exchanging looks and laughter all night long. Jessica’s favorite memory with MeKaila: We were eating at the Trivette dining hall together, giggling and processing our life, our past traumas, and our emerging adulthood through music, humor, and just being weirdos together.

Garrett and Evan met in third grade, where a conversation about video game music would forge a friendship that would continue through middle school, high school, college, and beyond! Garrett’s favorite memories of Evan are of growing up alongside him and always being mistaken for being twins! Garrett and Evan have been through soccer, band, enrichment, and countless game nights, speedruns, and hangs together. He’s honored and thrilled to be a part of Evan and MeKaila’s special day!

While at first Jacob and Evan's personalities clashed, they quickly became close friends! In the past few years, they've greatly enjoyed making music with each other in the percussion section. Jacob’s favorite memory with Evan: getting to watch him grow so much as a musician in the 8 years (!) we’ve known each other. He’s evolved from just a high school band kid to a semi-professional orchestral percussionist, and it’s been so much fun to continue making music together! 🥁
