FAQs

Question

Are you planning to postpone your wedding date?

Answer

We have decided to have a very intimate wedding that allows us to get married on our same date of July 24th, 2020. We have been talking about potential options for hosting a casual celebration sometime next summer, but no final decisions have been made yet. We will update you on this through the website and email as we solidify plans.

Question

Will you be live streaming the ceremony?

Answer

Our hope is to live stream our ceremony for guests who are unable to attend in person due to the pandemic restrictions, but we are still working on the logistics of this option. We will, however, have a video recording of the ceremony to also watch at a later date. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Are you still having a bridal shower?

Answer

We are currently discussing virtual shower and small in-person shower options for our family members and friends to attend. Any showers will likely be planned for late June into early-mid July. We will update you on the website and through email as plans are solidified. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Question

Where should we send registry gifts?

Answer

All gifts and cards can be sent to Kayla's family's house: 14583 Crane St. NW Andover, MN 55304. Thank you!

Question

For intimate wedding guests, what COVID precautions are you taking?

Answer

The venue has numerous touch-free hand sanitizers and we will be taking social distancing recommendations into account with our seating. You are not required to wear a mask and we expect most of our guests will not be wearing one, but if you would prefer to wear one, please bring your own.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our ceremony and reception will now be indoors at our new venue, Cornerstone Studios in Northeast Minneapolis. (Three cheers for A/C in July!)

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party and immediate families will be taking pictures nearby for around 15-20 minutes before Evan and Kayla take their first portraits as husband and wife. Guests can stay in the venue where we will be serving small appetizers and drinks. Grab a seat at one of the booths or couches as our vendor team turns the ceremony space into our reception before dinner is served.

Question

Can I take photographs during the wedding?

Answer

We only ask for you to put phones and cameras away during our ceremony. That way, you can be fully present in the moment with us. You may freely take photos at the reception and any other wedding events. Also, you can use the wedding hashtag #GonnaGetMitched on your Instagram photos and any other social media posts. We're so excited to see your photos!

Question

Where should we park?

Answer

There is ample free parking right outside the venue. We recommend parking in the neighborhood streets that are within a block from the venue instead of in front of the venue since there are hourly restrictions. (Plus, we'll keep the road mostly clear for photo opportunities, too!) We do, however, highly suggest planning for an Uber or Lyft ride home if you will be drinking at our wedding. We want to ensure everyone has a great but safe time!

Question

Is there a block of hotel rooms or list of places to stay?

Answer

We do not have a block of hotel rooms booked, but we encourage you to look at the Travel tab in this website for more information. We include hotel recommendations that are close to the venue along with suggestions for alternative accommodations like Airbnb, one of our favorite ways to travel!

Question

Who is our point of contact at the wedding?

Answer

To ensure that Kayla and Evan are able to stay present during the wedding, we'd like for you to ask our wedding day-of coordinator Kristen and assistant (and close friend!) Akua any questions you may have on the day of the wedding. If they can be answered before the wedding, we ask you to email Kayla and Evan at kaylaevanmitchell@gmail.com for peace-of-mind.

Question

We don't see our question answered here. How can we get a hold of you?

Answer

We're happy to answer any questions you may have about our wedding. Please contact Kayla or Evan at kaylaevanmitchell@gmail.com and we will get back to you quickly.

For all the days along the way
