Do I need a car to travel around Crete?

Answer

Generally it is a good idea if you are planning to explore the island, as it is big and there is a lot to see. However, you can also take local buses and taxis. If you are not planning on driving it is best to stay in the Old Town of Rethymno, where you can be centrally located and explore at your leisure.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

The weather in May is the month where summer knocks on Crete's door. It is one the best months, weather wise. Reliably warm, mostly dry, and not too hot. Average temperature is around 25 degrees celsius. It does get colder at nights, so please bring something warm.
