We highly recommend the San Blas neighborhood of Cusco. This area provides easy access to the heart of Cusco and the surrounding activities such as Saqsaywaman and the Plaza de Armas. Our favorite hotel in the area is Antiqua Casona San Blas.
To welcome you to Peru, we invite you to join us for welcome drinks on May 29th at Antigua Casona San Blas in Cusco. Our rehearsal dinner will follow the evening of May 30th at Willka T’ika. The ceremony and reception will be held on May 31st. Newlywed brunch will be offered the morning of June 1st.
We will have shuttles arranged leaving from Cusco the morning of May 30th. You are also welcome to Uber, taxi or plan your own transport.
We will be arriving at the end of Peru's rainy season (Peru's autumn). The landscape will be lush & green but also be prepared for warm days, cooler evening temperatures and possible rain. Temperatures in the Sacred Valley will likely run from mid-60-70's during the day (strong sun) and can drop to mid-30s at night. Layers on layers! Please pack accordingly.
The elevation of the Sacred Valley ranges from 9,000-11,000+ ft. When you arrive, be sure to stay hydrated and allow time to acclimate.
The tap water is not safe to drink. We suggest purchasing bottled water. Please do not brush your teeth or ingest the tap water. At Willka T’ika, we provide filtered and boiled water in our reception areas. We also provide a jug of filtered water in the guest rooms so that you can brush your teeth only with filtered water. All vegetables served at Willka T’ika are washed in filtered water. Ice is also prepared only with filtered water.
