It was an unusually warm March 8th, 2020. Evan, along with roommates and neighbors, were partaking and hosting the time-honored tradition of "Dows Days," a big, outdoor event at The Meadows townhouse complexes just east of campus. Barbeques were lit, music was playing and fun was had. Like all good college parties, it was shut down. But the fun doesn't end in Geneseo, New York. Dows Days continued down to fraternity row, where a mutual friend introduced Anna to Evan on the porch of the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity house. Great conversation was had - so much so that an hour later they looked around and realized everyone had left. But that didn't stop Evan and Anna. The conversation continued. The following week, COVID-19 pandemic shut the entire world down, including SUNY Geneseo. Not wanting to waste the little time they had left of their college days, Evan and Anna hunkered down for the remainder of the semester at their respective houses. Evan and his roommates formed a bubble with Anna and her roommates, and they continued their conversations (and the fun) until the end of their senior year. Fast forward to June 14th, 2020. After a few trips between Albany and Rochester, New York, Anna made it clear to Evan she liked him (y'know, "like-liked" him). The feeling was mutual, and they made it official. A few months later, and Anna moved out to Rochester for work, 20 minutes away from Evan. About a year later and plenty of meetups and weekends spent on East Avenue, Evan and Anna both found jobs in New York City, and moved downstate together. Five years later and they both now share a beautiful brownstone in Brooklyn, New York, having made quite the home for themselves. It's June 2025, just a week before Evan and Anna's fifth anniversary. Evan and Anna (having freshly graduated from Northeastern University with a Master in Public Administration) made the seven hour journey back to SUNY Geneseo to celebrate their fifth-year college reunion. Since neither had walked a stage for graduation, this was an exciting trip for both - but Evan had another idea. We then find ourselves on Friday, June 6th, 2025. It had been raining all morning and Evan, per usual, was panicking. The plan was falling apart. But by luck, or fate, the skies cleared, and Evan, Anna and her closest friends made their way to the campus gazebo that overlooks the famous view of the Genesee Valley (seriously, Google Images the sunset, it's incredible). On bended knee, Evan asked Anna if she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. The rest, they say, is history.
