FAQs

Below please find answers to the most common questions we have received. We are monitoring the Covid-19 situation very closely and taking every precaution we can, but please bear with us and check back here frequently as the event gets closer because things are evolving and changing by the day as we adapt to the latest developments.
Question

Will the Shabbat Dinner still take place outdoors?

Answer

Because it looks like it will rain tonight, a rain call has been made and the event will now be indoors at the Seacrest Ballroom at the Opal Grand. Please feel free to wear a mask to the event if you would be more comfortable, and to reach out with any questions. Looking forward to seeing you tonight!

Question

Are Covid-19 vaccinations required to attend this wedding?

Answer

YES. All guests must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Everyone please get vaccinated if you haven't already so you can party with us like it's 2019! Please be prepared to submit proof of vaccination. We also strongly encourage everyone to get the booster before the wedding as it has been shown to be highly effective against the Omicron variant.

Question

What Covid-19 precautions are you taking?

Answer

We are of course following the news closely regarding the Covid-19 Omicron variant and want to keep you apprised of the precautions we are taking so that everyone can feel comfortable, stay safe, and have the best possible time at the wedding. First, as you already know, everyone attending the event will be fully vaccinated (and mostly everyone, if not everyone, will be boosted). Second, we have arranged for most of the events to take place outdoors, weather permitting-- all of the events Friday through Sunday will now be outdoors. Third, for anyone who is immunocompromised or who lives with small children who cannot yet be vaccinated, we have secured several at-home rapid tests that we will be happy to provide you with before you depart, and we can also direct you to PCR testing locations in the area. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns, or other ideas you may have.

Question

Do I need to mask up?

Answer

While we will not be requiring masks at the events themselves, we ask that everyone please wear a mask on the shuttles to and from Casa Cohen, or in any ride share service you use. We also strongly encourage everyone to wear masks inside the hotel. In other words, pack a cute face mask and a good setting spray!

Question

How do I get to Casa Cohen? Is there parking available?

Answer

If you are staying at the Opal Grand, roundtrip transportation to Casa Cohen will be provided. If you are staying elsewhere or coming from home, you will need to take Uber, Lyft, or whatever other ride share or car service you choose. There is no parking available at Casa Cohen.

Question

What is the weather like in South Florida in January?

Answer

It is usually pretty perfect-- in the 60s and 70s! We recommend you pack a light jacket or shawl because it might even get a little chilly. Since most of the events will take place outdoors, please dress accordingly!

Question

What shoes should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

We encourage you to wear grass-friendly shoes to the wedding and brunch as they will take place outdoors and on grass at Casa Cohen.

Question

What is "Provocative" attire?

Answer

Well... it's flamboyant, campy, fun, sexy, whatever you want it to be! Think Billy Porter, David Rose, Moira Rose, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Tabitha Cohen, or any other fashion icon. It can be short or long, no jeans unless they are leather or velvet. Incorporate lace, bling, thigh-highs, fascinators, feathers, and brooches to your heart's desire. Think Met Gala but not black tie-- just FABULOUS. Wear that thing you've always wanted to wear but have never had the occasion to-- this is your moment! Provocative is everything and anything-- just not boring!

Question

What is "Shabbat Chic" attire?

Answer

Suit and tie. Sport jacket, dress shirt, and slacks are fine, too. Going to church dress without the hat or mantilla. Skirt and top. Nice pants and sweater. Basically just anything not too risqué, and no jeans. Think traditional synagogue modest, but make it FASHUN.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us. If you are bringing your kids to Florida and need help finding a sitter while you enjoy the festivities, please feel free to reach out and we can try to help you find someone.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

Please do not take photos during the ceremony-- we have hired a photographer for exactly this purpose and want everyone to be in the moment! If you would like photos of the ceremony after the wedding, we would be happy to share them with you!
