One of our favorite walks is along Sunset Cliffs with coffee in the morning or bundling up in a blanket and watching the sunset in the evening. Sunset Cliffs Natural Park is a 68-acre City of San Diego regional park which extends 1½ miles along the Point Loma peninsula's western shoreline. Views for days!
From the Cabrillo Monument, you can enjoy sweeping views of the Pacific as well as the Point Loma naval base below, downtown San Diego, Coronado, and on a clear day, the mountains of Tijuana, Mexico. We are frequent vistors as there is a 2.5-mile Bayside Trail that cascades down into the east side of the point and ends right above the bay waters. Take a hike with panoramic views of San Diego!
Mission beach is home to Belmont Park and the well known wooden roller coaster, "The Giant Dipper." Grab an ice cream, walk the boardwalk and even tip your toes in the Pacific Ocean. This is where we had a couple of our "firsts"-- first date, and first kiss. We played mini golf and we'll let you guess who won!
Balboa Park is always changing and amazing. It is home to more than 16 museums, multiple performing arts venues, lovely gardens, trails, and many other creative and recreational attractions. The San Diego zoo is walking distance! We've been here multiple times but our best memory was the Balboa food truck festival where we shared thee best Kalbi beef fries from a Korean taco truck.
Awesome awaits with over 60 rides and attractions. Approximately 35 miles from Point Loma where the wedding venue is. Fun, colourful and inspirational, LEGOLAND is where awesome awaits for families looking for a great day out, or the ultimate vacation experience.
Head over to La Jolla Cove to watch the sea lions. From the sidewalk above the cliffs at La Jolla Cove, you have a great vantage point of the sunbathing seals and sea lions. When we visit love to see who does the best seal impression! We would also suggest going for a kayak or snorkel to see some amazing caves and marine life.
With a passion for aviation or military this is a bucket list item. The USS Midway was the longest-serving aircraft carrier in the 20th century. Named after the climactic Battle of Midway of June 1942, Midway was built in only 17 months. It is now a museum open to the public. Kids love it and adults too!
It's called the Gaslamp Quarter due to the gas lamps that used to light the San Diego streets. Located in downtown it is close to Pecto Park. One of our first dates was the home opener game, where we watched the Padres take on the San Fransisco Giants. It was a scorcher at 85 + degrees out! There are many famous bars, clubs, and restaurants for a fun night out on the town.
