Accommodations can be very busy in the summer. We recommend booking early whether you choose a hotel or Air BnB/VRBO.

There are many short term rentals on Air BnB, VRBO, and other sites that can fit a large range of guests. This may be the best option for a group that wants their own space other than the hotel.

A smaller inn that is right next to Chair 5 in "downtown" Girdwood where we will be ending the night!

House Or Rental

Rental RV

Another fun option is an RV rental if you are planning on making an extended visit to AK before or after the wedding. There is a large parking area where RV's are allowed at the base of Alyeska resort, and many other campgrounds in popular places to visit outside of Girdwood. We suggest just googling RV rental sites in Anchorage and even browsing www.outdoorsy.com. If you decide to van-life, there is a Laundromat with a shower in Girdwood.

Flight

Ted Stevens International Airport

Fly into Anchorage and Girdwood is about a 45-minute drive south on the Seward Highway. We advise renting a car to enjoy the area, but you can find shuttle options from the airport to Alyeska Resort. There is no Uber/Lyft in Girdwood, but the Glacier Valley Transit Shuttle is good for getting around Girdwood.

Travel Note

Travel Tips

The Crow Creek Mercantile is a very small grocery store with a liquor store. We typically recommend any major food shopping to be done in Anchorage for more variety and fresher produce. You can look up Carr's Safeway, Fred Meyer's, and Costco if you plan on going that route. Girdwood also has three liquor stores, one at the Mercantile, one at the Gas station, and La Bodega which is a fun little boutique liquor store.
