Question

When should we arrive?

Answer

We would welcome you to arrive as early as Wednesday October 15. We want people to feel free to make a vacation of their trip out here - fall in the Colorado Mountains is gorgeous and we want time with everyone! We will have lots of festivities planned for Wednesday-Friday! Think pickleball, hikes, bar-hopping in town, and boardgames! We have a special event happening on Friday October 17 that we would love to have you there for! Suz is planning a concert at Rocky Mountain Rep and everyone is invited! She will have lots of guest performers from all areas of her life. It's going to be such a special night of music, stories, and love! We do not want you to miss out! But ultimately, the wedding ceremony is Saturday at 3pm. You will want to plan for a 2.5 hour drive from Denver, so if you can't come up until Saturday, just be prepared for that commute!

Question

How should I get to Grand Lake from Denver?

Answer

If you're flying into DIA, you can look into renting a car, or buying a ticket on the Home James which is a private shuttle that will take you straight to Grand Lake. Once in Grand Lake, you shouldn't technically need a car as everything we will do is walkable. If you're interested in a train ride, you can actually take the amtrak all the way to Granby (about 20 min from Grand Lake!) and someone can pick you up! But there's no such thing as an Uber in Grand Lake, so just know that ahead of time!

Question

Should I be worried about the altitude

Answer

Well... yes and no. It bothers some people a lot, and others not so much. We would recommend laying low on alcohol for the first 24 hours and drinking a ton of water leading up to your arrival. Take it slow and see how your body feels! You do NOT want to get altitude sickness! You could also plan one night in Denver to acclimate and then come up the mountain!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

It has been known to snow in October in Grand Lake, but most likely it will be dry! It will be very chilly at night, and if you rent a car it would be wise to grab one that has All Wheel Drive!

For all the days along the way
