How we met

Before we ever met, we were both praying for our future spouse — and God must have smiled and said, “Alright, let’s make this fun.” So, in the most modern, unexpected, totally 2020s way… He matched us on a Christian dating app (thank you SALT). Not exactly the “we locked eyes across the sanctuary” story — but definitely proof that God can use anything, even apps, to answer prayers. Our first date was supposed to be simple… a quick lunch, a nice conversation, and an exit strategy just in case. But instead, it turned into a six-hour date, filled with so much laughter and connection that we forgot time even existed. And by the end of it, after the most amazing first hug, we both walked away thinking the exact same thing: “I think I just found my wife.” “I think I just found my husband.” Then came the challenge: we lived an hour and a half apart. Which meant our love story came with romance… and a lot of driving! But every mile was worth it. Every late-night phone call. Every “I’m on my way!” text. Every moment spent choosing each other, even with the distance. In the end, it didn’t matter that distance tried to make things complicated — God made everything simple. It all became part of the sweetness of our story. We learned to cherish the effort, to choose each other daily, and to see God’s fingerprints in every step. He brought two praying hearts together, added a little humor, a lot of grace, and wrote a love story we wouldn’t trade for anything. What started as two hearts praying separately became one love growing together — steady, intentional, joyful, and grounded in Christ. Today, we look back with gratitude and forward with hope, knowing that the same God who brought us together is the One who will lead us through every season ahead. This is our story — and it’s only the beginning!
